The Divorce Prescription (Celina and Adam) novel Chapter 997

Jonah's face was distorted with rage.

He called out, "Hailey? Hailey! Where are you?"

He strode upstairs, quickly crossing the hallway, and pushed open the door to the master bedroom.

However, there was no one in the room.

"Hailey? Hailey!" Jonah continued shouting.

Justin followed him in, a sick feeling tightening his gut. "Jonah, is Ms. Hailey not home? Where could she have gone?"

He grew nervous. "I can't reach Ms. Hailey. Her phone's off, and she's nowhere to be found. You don't think something's happened to her, right? Could it be… could everything she said was true after all?"

Jonah looked at him and asked, "What exactly did Hailey say?"

This time, Justin didn't dare hold anything back. He immediately let Jonah know the truth. "Jonah, Ms. Hailey told me that Joanne has been working with Ewan all along. They're in it together!"

What?

Jonah was shocked to hear that.

Justin continued, "At first, I didn't believe it. I mean, we've known Joanne for years. Why would she ever work with Ewan? She knows better than anyone that Ewan is our enemy. But if she really has teamed up with him… what if Ewan took Ms. Hailey just like last time?"

Jonah grabbed Justin by the collar. "Like last time? Speak clearly!"

Justin responded, "Last time, Joanne told me to invite Ms. Hailey out. Once she showed up, she drugged her drink. I was told to leave right after that. Later, Ms. Hailey told me that after I left, Joanne and Ewan showed up and forced her onto the operating table.

"They were going to make her get an abortion and get rid of the baby!"

Jonah grabbed Justin by the collar and asked, "Are you saying that Joanne and Ewan were behind that, too?"

Last time, when Hailey had almost undergone an abortion, Jonah had shown up just in time and taken her away from the hospital.

All this time, he thought she had intentionally wanted to abort the baby.

He realized that he had misunderstood her all this time.
