The Divorce Prescription (Celina and Adam) novel Chapter 942

Tears streamed down Hailey's face, blurring her vision.

Ewan and Joanne stood off to the side, silently watching the scene unfold. They exchanged a knowing glance, a smirk tugging at the corners of their lips.

Jonah wouldn't be coming.

Back in his office, Jonah had just wrapped up his work and leaned back in his chair. He picked up his phone and dialed Hailey's number, planning to invite her for dinner.

But the ringtone echoed unanswered, over and over.

Why wasn't Hailey picking up?

Jonah's brow furrowed in frustration.

Just then, Jeremy walked in. "Mr. Reid, is Ms. Hailey not answering your call?"

Jonah decided to dial Hailey's number again. What could she be doing? Why wasn't she picking up?

Once again, there was no answer.

"Mr. Reid, do you think Ms. Hailey might be with Dr. Tate again?" Jeremy suggested. "Maybe that's why she didn't hear her phone ringing."

Jonah thought about it for a moment. It seemed like a plausible explanation. Hailey and Celine were always together—whatever Hailey was up to, Celine was sure to know about it.

"I'll call Dr. Tate," Jonah said, scrolling through his contacts.

He quickly found Celine's number and dialed it without hesitation.

The ringtone echoed once before being answered, and Celine's calm, soothing voice came through. "Hello, Mr. Pilsner."

Jonah held Celine in high regard—not only because she was Hailey's closest friend but also because she had been the one to treat his facial injury.

"Hello, Dr. Tate. I owe you an apology for the incident with Ewan at the hospital," Jonah said.

Even though he had already resolved the matter, he felt it was important to apologize to Celine personally.
