Her eyes locked onto Nigel and Fiona. "Do you two even see me as your daughter anymore? What does it say about me when you go and make Celine your goddaughter?"
Whispers broke out among the nearby CEOs.
"What's going on? Ms. Carly doesn't approve of Mr. and Mrs. Hampton making Celine their goddaughter?"
"Looks to me she just came to stir up trouble."
"She's clearly not here to celebrate. She started drama the moment she walked in."
Carly had definitely not come to show support. Even though Nigel and Fiona had sent her a gilded invitation, she came to crash the party.
Anne was very pleased with Carly's behavior. Pretending to persuade her, she said, "Carly, let it go. They have every right to choose a goddaughter."
"Why should I let it go? I'm the real daughter of the Hampton family. Mom, Dad, I don't agree with you making Celine your goddaughter!" Carly openly voiced her disapproval.
"What choice?" Nigel asked.
Carly raised her voice. "I don't like Celine. I've made that clear. I don't want you to make her your goddaughter. So now you have to pick. Between me or Celine, who do you want as your daughter?"
Both Nigel's and Fiona's expressions turned cold.
Carly pressed on, relentless, "If you choose Celine, then you've completely lost me, your real daughter. Now, make your decision!"
Carly was now forcing Nigel and Fiona to choose.
Whispers filled the air again.
"I didn't expect Ms. Carly to stir things up at this event."
"Now they have to choose between their real daughter and their goddaughter. What will Mr. and Mrs. Hampton do?"
