The Divorce Prescription (Celina and Adam) novel Chapter 784

What did Celine just say?

Outside the door, Adam, Nigel, and Fiona all froze simultaneously.

Carly had returned with Anne. Even though Anne's involvement in Yoruzen witchcraft had been exposed, they didn't think they had lost.

Carly said excitedly, "Ms. Warwick, do you really think Adam will marry me?"

Anne took a leisurely sip of tea. "Of course he will. Just get ready to be a bride. I'm the only one who can neutralize the Heartstring Venom in his body."

Carly clung to Anne's arm. "Ms. Warwick, you're always so good to me."

Anne replied, "Carly, you're my daughter now. Of course, I'll take care of you."

Carly sweetly called out, "Mom!"

In Carly's world, if someone treated her well or were useful to her, she'd call them Mom without hesitation.

Just then, a maid rushed in. "Ms. Warwick, Ms. Hampton, someone just delivered something."

Anne looked up. "What is it?"

The maid held out a gold-embossed invitation. "Ms. Warwick, Ms. Hampton, it's an invitation."

Anne took it. "An invitation to what?"

She opened the shimmering card. Carly leaned over to look, too, and both their expressions changed.

If Celine's true identity were exposed, Carly's value would drop to zero.

Carly sat down in disbelief. "No way! Last time, Nigel and Fiona already ran a DNA test. They won't suspect anything again soon!"

Anne nodded. "Then, we need to act fast. Since they've invited us, we're going."

Carly nodded in agreement. "So what if Celine's their goddaughter now? She still can't be with Adam? We're still going to win."

Carly and Anne shared a look and smiled, full of malice.

The recognition banquet was about to begin. The entire Hampton residence was lit up brilliantly, and all the Capitol's elites had arrived—wealthy, powerful, and influential. Tonight was the true stage for the social elite.
