Nigel nodded. "Yes, I'm ready. Celine, go ahead—take my blood."
"Alright."
Celine immediately pulled out a sharp, gleaming blade. "Mr. Hampton, I'm about to begin."
"Do it."
Nigel closed his eyes.
Celine raised the blade. Its pointed tip hovered directly above Nigel's chest, right where his heart beat beneath.
Suddenly, Fiona leaped off the bed and threw herself into Nigel's arms, clinging to him tightly.
Nigel opened his eyes and looked at her. "Fiona, what's wrong?"
She shook her desperately. "Nigel, I don't want you to die!"
He gazed at her tenderly. "As long as it saves you, I'll do anything."
"Why are you being so nice to me?" Fiona's voice trembled. "Back then, our marriage was purely out of convenience for our families. I knew you didn't love me."
Nigel lifted his hand and gently cupped her face. "It's true. At first, our marriage was just part of a power match. I didn't love you when we got married. Honestly, back then, it didn't matter who I married."
As an heir to a wealthy family, marriage had been just another means of securing alliances—who the partner was hadn't mattered.
Fiona lowered her gaze, her heart aching. She had always known he didn't love her.
She began to loosen her hold.
But Nigel continued, "I didn't love you then because we had just met. But after we got married… You slowly found your way into my heart over the years. Whether I wanted it or not, you clung to me, stayed by my side.
Nigel reached out and gently wiped her tears. "Don't cry, Fiona."
She wrapped her arms around his neck, stood on her toes, and kissed him.
Nigel was stunned.
Then, Fiona smiled as she looked him in the eye. "Nigel, I love you too."
His expression shifted.
While smiling through her tears, Fiona said, "I'm the heiress of the Jakeman family. Sure, marrying into another powerful family was always part of the plan. But my parents told me since I was little that I deserve to marry for love.
"The day I saw your photo, I knew I wanted you. I told my parents I wouldn't marry anyone else. If I'm marrying, it has to be you, Nigel Hampton. That was why our families agreed to this marriage.
"I wore a red dress to our first meeting, just to catch your attention. I wanted your love. I wanted you to love me… the way I've always loved you!"

I am not happy with all of this. Why is carly moving so freely with ann. This is wrong...
You'll piss again with the next chapters. Its all about hailey, declan and erwan....

this is getting absurd and funnier...so are we gonna some sci-fi alien or time travelling next...author getting dummier... I just want to point out that every single char forgets what the atrocious things carly did and was never punished they practically ignore every deed she'd done and she goes unscathed and starts doing some witchcraft sh*t...
It's been over a year since i started reading this book. Now...i guess this will take more years before it ends...hahhah enemel...
Seriously???? I really wanted to laugh. This is ridiculous! Unbelievable. Medicine to witchcraft????🤣 You're just dragging it. Reveal who the real daughter of the Hampton!!!!...
Can't you just reveal the truth of Celine heritage ??...
Not again..is there any fast forward button?...
this is so annoying. the happy moments of celine and adam are way too shorter than their problems. this is the kind of story that will make the readers lose their interest. to the author, you are so disappointing. i hope you can give the story the justice it deserves....
