Carly updated Anne on everything she had accomplished that day.
Anne smiled in approval. "Good. With the Heartstring Venom, Adam won't be able to walk away from you."
Carly looked relieved. "Ms. Warwick, the Heartstring Venom won't stop working unexpectedly, right? I've finally gotten a chance to be with Adam, and I'm scared of losing him."
Anne chuckled. "Don't worry. This venom is powerful. Adam won't recover unless he stays with you forever."
"Thank you so much, Ms. Warwick."
"You're welcome. Now, our true enemies are Celine and Fiona. I won't let that mother-daughter pair get away with this."
…
Leo approached Adam quietly in the hospital room, speaking in a hushed tone. "Mr. Alvarez, Ms. Carly just stepped out to take a call. I overheard part of it—it sounded like she was talking to someone named Ms. Warwick."
Ms. Warwick? Anne?
Could Anne be the one pulling the strings behind all of this?
Adam pressed his lips together, a flash of uncertainty crossing his face.
He knew Anne—an orphan who had grown up depending entirely on Nigel. Could she really possess that much power?
Was there something about her that Adam hadn't yet discovered?
"Mr. Alvarez, what should we do next?"
"I suspect Carly and Anne are working together," Adam replied. "But I'm not sure what they're planning yet. It's not a problem, though. I'll test Carly and find out."
"Mr. Alvarez, how do you plan to test Ms. Carly?"
Adam's lips curved into a sly smile. "By making them turn on each other, of course!"
Leo couldn't shake the unease settling in him as he watched Adam's unwavering confidence. The way Carly had taken a shot at Adam seemed incredibly reckless.
…
As Carly stepped into the Hampton residence, Nigel and Fiona immediately noticed her arrival. Fiona quickly approached, her voice tinged with concern. "Carly, where have you been?"
"I went to see Adam, Mom. I've been with him this entire time."
Fiona's expression froze. "What? You were with Mr. Alvarez? Carly, the last time he was here, he made things clear. Your father and I just want you to find someone who genuinely loves you and will make you happy. It's time to let go of Mr. Alvarez—"
"Mom, Adam invited me to dinner tomorrow," Carly interrupted her.
Fiona was taken aback, momentarily speechless. "Mr. Alvarez invited you to dinner? What's he playing at?"
Nigel's brows furrowed in concern. "Carly, why would Adam suddenly ask you out?"
A confident smile spread across Carly's face. She couldn't care less if her parents didn't support her—she still had Anne, and with her help, she would win Adam over.
"Mom, Dad, Adam has always had feelings for me. If he's inviting me to dinner, it can only mean one thing—he wants to be with me."

this is getting absurd and funnier...so are we gonna some sci-fi alien or time travelling next...author getting dummier... I just want to point out that every single char forgets what the atrocious things carly did and was never punished they practically ignore every deed she'd done and she goes unscathed and starts doing some witchcraft sh*t...

Not again..is there any fast forward button?...
this is so annoying. the happy moments of celine and adam are way too shorter than their problems. this is the kind of story that will make the readers lose their interest. to the author, you are so disappointing. i hope you can give the story the justice it deserves....
