Celine met Hailey at a restaurant, and the two of them were seated in a private, upscale dining room.

As Hailey handed her the menu, she said, "You must be starving after waiting all day at city hall. Go ahead, order something first."

Celine didn't hesitate to do so. She opened the menu and picked a few dishes.

Hailey asked, "Celine, what exactly happened today? Why didn't Adam show up at city hall?"

Celine shook her head. "I don't know. I tried calling him, but he never picked up."

With a sharp smack, Hailey slapped the table. "How dare he? I couldn't believe he stood you up! I'm calling him right now!"

She pulled out her phone and dialed Adam's number.

The ringtone played softly in the background, repeating over and over.

However, no one answered.

Hailey was speechless. "Why isn't he picking up? What on earth is he doing today?"

Just then, the waiter brought their food. Celine picked up her cutlery and quietly began to eat.

Hailey said, "Celine, don't worry. I'll make sure Adam gives you an explanation!"

Celine wasn't sure what to think anymore. Adam was the one who had asked to get married, yet he was also the one who didn't show up.

Even if he was busy, he could have at least answered the phone to tell her.

Hailey looked at Celine and said, "Celine, I'm not trying to defend him... but this doesn't seem like something he would do. What if something happened to him?"

Celine's hand froze mid-air, still holding her cutlery.

Did something happen to Adam?

She had waited all day at city hall, crushed with disappointment and weighed down by emotions. Now that she thought about it more carefully, something did seem off.

Adam wasn't the type to disappear without a word. Even if he had changed his mind, he would have told her personally.

This really wasn't like him at all.

Celine looked at Hailey. "And today, Adam's phone hasn't gone through at all. He's usually not like this."

As she spoke, she took out her phone. "Let me call Alvarez Residence to check with Mrs. Alvarez and Bella. Maybe he's home."

Hailey nodded. "Okay."

Now, however, Bella's small hands and warm body embraced her, promising to care for her in the future.

Grace's eyes instantly filled with tears.

Healing didn't seem so impossible. After all, she had found love.

Grace hugged Bella tightly and said, "I love you so much, Bella."

As both of them shared this tender moment, the phone rang in the living room, interrupting the warmth.

Grace quickly released Bella. "Bella, the phone's ringing. Let me pick up the phone first."

Bella asked happily, "Do you think it's Daddy and Mommy calling?"

"Let's check it out."

Grace answered the phone, and soon, Celine's voice came through the line.

"Mrs. Alvarez, it's me."

"Celine! Did you and Adam get your marriage registered? You'll need to start calling me 'Mom' now!" Grace said joyfully.
