The Divorce Prescription (Celina and Adam) novel Chapter 1035

Could Rebecca really be Melody?

At that moment, Hailey knew what the truth was—Rebecca was indeed Melody.

It was no surprise Rebecca felt so familiar. She was an old acquaintance who concealed her identity behind a new face to get close to Hailey.

How interesting.

Still, despite everything, Rebecca hadn't gained anything by coming here. Instead, she found herself in the hospital after being struck by Jonah.

"Thank you, doctor," Hailey said.

"You're welcome, Ms. Hailey."

As Hailey stepped outside, Jonah's tall, imposing figure appeared before her. "What are you doing here?"

A faint smile tugged at Hailey's lips. "I came to ask about Rebecca's condition."

Jonah pressed his lips into a tight line. "So, you really do care about her, huh?"

"Rebecca is my classmate. It's only natural to be concerned. What exactly are you getting at, Mr. Pilsner?"

Jonah pouted. "Until now, you haven't shown me any concern at all!"

Hailey couldn't help but laugh. "Mr. Pilsner, do you really need me to care for you? Rebecca's the one who's injured!"

"And I'm the one who was frightened!" Jonah shot back.

Without warning, he reached out and wrapped his arms around Hailey's slender waist. "Who gave you permission to bring Rebecca into our home?"

Hailey raised an eyebrow. "I'm sorry, Mr. Pilsner, I didn't tell you earlier. Rebecca comes from a troubled household. Her father has been abusive, and she had nowhere else to go. That's why she came to stay at our place for a couple of days."

Jonah let out a bitter laugh. "Yeah, I guess you can let her stay for two days. But you might as well hand over your husband while you're at it."

Though Hailey caught his meaning, she pretended not to understand. "Mr. Pilsner, what are you talking about? I don't follow."
