In that moment, the entire crowd stood frozen in shock.
No one had expected the old woman to actually wake up.
And the timing—down to the very minute—couldn't have been more precise.
"She's awake! That old lady is really awake!"
"My God!"
"Who would've thought this young girl actually knew what she was doing?"
"Incredible! Just amazing! So this is what they mean by ancient medicine, by true tradition."
The onlookers' voices shifted in an instant, their earlier skepticism melting into awe and admiration.
No one had imagined Caitlin was truly capable of something like this.
The elderly woman looked at Caitlin, her voice still weak but clear. "Y-You… kind soul, thank you for saving me."
She'd always been health-conscious, often watching videos on how to prevent heart attacks. The moment she collapsed, she recognized the signs of a sudden cardiac event. Though her mind remained sharp, she couldn't open her eyes. She knew the golden window for treatment was just ten minutes—any longer, and she'd be in real danger.
Even though someone in the crowd had dialed for an ambulance right away, the vehicle was stuck in traffic. By the time Caitlin arrived, seven or eight minutes had already slipped by. If Caitlin had hesitated for even a second, she wouldn't have made it.
Even now, as she lay awake, the memory sent a chill through her.
So when Caitlin administered the first needle, the old woman knew she'd met a savior.
After thanking Caitlin, she tried to sit up, struggling to push herself off the ground.
Caitlin quickly reached out to stop her. "Ma'am, please stay lying down. Don't move just yet."
Though the old woman wasn't sure why, she obeyed, settling back onto the pavement.
Caitlin explained in a calm, steady voice, "I've just used a special technique to help your heart. You need to rest here for a few more minutes before you try to stand. If you move too quickly, you might faint again."
"Of course, dear. Thank you."
A few minutes later, Caitlin gently helped her up, supporting her as she rose to her feet.
The old woman looked at Caitlin, her eyes filled with gratitude and admiration.
While she'd been unconscious, she'd heard the whispers—some accusing her of faking, others too afraid to try and help. Only Caitlin had stepped forward.
