"So you really did know about it all along!" Flossie stared at her mother, her eyes filled with disbelief. "If you knew about my brother and Maureen from the beginning, why didn't you stop it?"
"Your brother is a man! He has needs! How was I supposed to stop something like that?" Old Mrs. Somerset retorted, completely unapologetic.
"So you just let my brother kill her?" Flossie pressed.
"No, I didn't! I didn't tell your brother to kill anyone, and he wouldn't!" Old Mrs. Somerset shot back. "I just stopped him from letting some low-life trash like her into our family. I have no idea how she ended up dead!"
At this, Old Mrs. Somerset grabbed Flossie's hand. "Flossie, you're his sister. Now that your brother is in trouble, you can't just stand by and do nothing!"
"I told you, I don't have that kind of power!" Flossie pulled her hand away. "Mom, instead of worrying about my brother, you should be worrying about the Somerset Group!"
The major shareholders of the Somerset Group had all jumped ship. The company was on the verge of collapse, and soon they might not even be able to keep the Somerset Manor.
Hearing this, Old Mrs. Somerset's face clouded over with worry. She pressed her temples. "Someone is definitely behind this, trying to destroy our family!"
