After all, Caitlin was so young.
"And so what if she is divorced?" Alaina retorted. "By your logic, should every divorced person in the world just cease to exist? Let me be clear: whether Caitlin was married before or not, we are the ones lucky to have her. It is absolutely not the place of an outsider like you to interfere."
Caitlin had never hidden her past.
So Beatrice and Alaina had known about her divorce for a long time.
But it hadn't lessened their affection for her in the slightest.
So what if she was divorced?
"Lucky to have her? Lucky to have someone like Caitlin? The Sylvesters? Was Alaina really Gordon's sister? Did she lost her mind?" Old Mrs. Somerset stared, her mind reeling.
"No biological sister would ever say something so absurd. Terrifying. A sister like that was truly terrifying. Luckily, there was still Beatrice, his actual mother. Surely a mother wouldn't allow her precious, high-status son to marry… such a bitch."
Old Mrs. Somerset pinned all her remaining hopes on Beatrice.
Just wait.
Beatrice was about to explode.
Just then, Beatrice turned to her bodyguards. "You two. Remove this disgraceful gossip from my sight. And blacklist her. From now on, she is banned from setting foot in any property owned by the Sylvester family."
Old Mrs. Somerset was dumbfounded.
What was happening? Why? Why was Beatrice kicking her out? Shouldn't it be Alaina getting thrown out?
How could Beatrice accept a divorced woman like Caitlin as the future matriarch of the Sylvester family? What in the world was going on?
As Old Mrs. Somerset stood there in shock, two bodyguards stepped forward. They grabbed her by the arms and dragged her out of the store like a sack of potatoes.
She couldn't believe it. In the span of just a few days, she had been thrown out of places twice.
