THE DIVORCE GAMBIT From Dumped Wife to CEO's Forever novel Chapter 797

Tina was a woman of her word. She already felt guilty for not telling Caitlin the full truth about Flavia's appearance, so she was determined to at least fulfill the promise she had made.

Carey?

Upon hearing the name, Flavia paused for a moment before shaking her head. "No, I don't."

Tina felt a wave of relief wash over her. So, Carey and Flavia weren't the same person after all. Still, she had to be sure. "Ma'am, are you certain you don't know her?"

"Yes," Flavia nodded. "I don't." After a moment, she added, "Although, the name does sound familiar." As if she had heard it somewhere before.

"Maybe you could try to think a little harder?" Tina prompted.

Flavia shook her head again. "It's probably a character from a book. I must be getting them mixed up." Besides baking, Flavia loved to spend her free time reading everything from world classics to romance novels. A beautiful name like Carey, she reasoned, must belong to a protagonist.

"Oh, I see," Tina said, a final weight lifting from her shoulders. She looked at Flavia with concern. "Ma'am, you look pale. Would you like me to prescribe you something?"

"No, thank you," Flavia declined. "Shirley already has."

"She has?" Tina asked. "What did she give you? May I see it?" Logically, with Shirley's medical skills, any medication she prescribed should have been making Flavia better day by day, not worse.

"Shirley brings it to me personally whenever it's time," Flavia explained. "I don't have any here."

"Did she tell you what your diagnosis was?" Tina pressed.

"She said it was the early stages of schizophrenia," Flavia replied.

Severe depression was a common precursor to schizophrenia, and Flavia had a history of depression. Hearing this, Tina didn't question it further. She and Shirley were friends, and she trusted Shirley's integrity.

"In that case, ma'am, please make sure you take your medicine on time and get plenty of rest," Tina advised.
