Walking between the two rows of Royal Guards, with all eyes on them, made Celeste incredibly tense. Just as they were about to reach the main entrance, Will Windsor strode in from outside. He held his ornate cane in one hand and a massive bouquet of roses in the other. He walked directly up to them and stopped.
More precisely, he stopped right in front of Caitlin, his gaze intense and unwavering. In a loud, clear voice, he declared:
"Miss Gonzales, hello. I am Will Windsor. May I have the pleasure of being your friend? And by friend, I mean boyfriend."
As soon as he finished speaking, an attendant stepped forward with a velvet box. Inside lay a lavish emerald necklace.
Celeste gasped. She recognized it. While researching the Windsor family, she had come across a news article about it. The necklace had once belonged to the former Princess Anya and was a piece of immense historical significance.
Will continued, "Miss Gonzales, if you accept my proposal, this necklace, once worn by my grandmother, will be yours."
He stood there, watching her, his eyes filled with an unshakeable confidence. He knew women all too well, which was why he had orchestrated this grand display.
What did women desire? First, wealth. The necklace he offered was famous, priceless, and not available on any market. Wearing it would make her the center of attention in any room. Second, vanity. He had summoned the Royal Guard specifically to cater to her ego. How many ordinary people ever got to see the Royal Guard, let alone have them assembled in their honor?
