Keira grabbed Amanda’s hand in a rush. “Amanda! Where’s the soup? I need some soup!”
Just a moment ago, she hadn’t felt hungry at all.
But now? She was starving.
Absolutely ravenous.
It felt as though a spark of life had suddenly been lit inside her.
Amanda blinked in surprise, unsure what to make of Keira’s demand.
Soup? Now?
Why on earth would Keira suddenly want soup?
Shouldn’t they be sitting down to talk—really talk—about the Richards family situation? There were important things to figure out: Daniel and Ann’s engagement, and everything else that needed sorting…
But soup? That was the priority?
Was Ann really less important to Keira than a bowl of soup?
Swallowing her confusion, Amanda set aside her questions and handed Keira the bowl from the table.
Keira took it eagerly, downed the soup in one long gulp, and threw off her blanket, ready to get out of bed.
Amanda jumped, startled by the sudden burst of energy.
Just days ago, Keira could barely speak above a whisper. Now, she was suddenly so full of life?
“Mom, where are you going?” Amanda asked, her voice full of concern.
“I need to buy a plane ticket! I’m leaving right now!”
A plane ticket?
Amanda straightened, instantly alert.
She didn’t even need to ask; it was obvious Keira wanted to fly to Neon Spire.
After all, Ann and Daniel’s future was at stake. Keira would have to go to Neon Spire to sort things out herself.
Amanda quickly said, “Alright, alright, Mom, I’ll get the tickets right away.”
Keira threw open the wardrobe, sorting through her clothes for something nice to wear. Without turning, she called out, “Amanda, make sure you get me the next flight to Silverhaven.”
She couldn’t wait another minute.
