Caitlin truly lived up to the phrase "awe-inspiring."
With a warm smile, Irene gestured down the hall. "Miss Kensington, Mr. Winslow, let's keep moving. My office is just ahead."
"Of course." Caitlin nodded politely.
Victor glanced at Wendy, still kneeling on the floor, and couldn't help but think she deserved it. He felt no sympathy for someone like her.
As Caitlin and the others walked away, Wendy stared after them, wracked with regret. She wanted nothing more than to slap herself—why on earth had she listened to Cynthia?
They soon reached the office. Larkin excused himself, needing to handle a few minor matters.
Irene made a point of asking her assistant to brew the finest coffee.
Caitlin got straight to the point, succinctly explaining why she'd come to see Irene.
Irene grinned. "Well, Miss Kensington, after what you did for me, I'd be happy to work with Apex."
"Lady Irene, let's keep things professional. I don't believe in leveraging favors for business. I'm already grateful you're willing to give us a shot. Please, hear out our proposal on game culture and partnership first—then decide if you'd like to move forward."
Caitlin preferred earning opportunities, not handouts.
