Finally calmed, Evanthe looked at the newcomer. Just by looking at him, she could sense the immense power he possessed—his very existence radiated the most powerful divine energy she had ever witnessed.
If there was a devil with the strongest power of darkness, then here was this deity with the strongest power of light. Both powers were exact opposites in their essence.
’So powerful. No wonder he is the King of Heaven,’ Evanthe thought. ’But that does not spare him from the injustice he allowed to happen to my people. What kind of a King is he to be fooled by one evil goddess? Not to forget—he even married that evil deity. What was he even thinking? Doesn’t he know what his own wife has been doing all along? Such a disgrace to his title as King of Heaven.’
Meanwhile, Grianor stopped in front of Isis, his gaze still—no emotions in them at all, even though she was his wife. He looked at her only through the lens of the responsibility he carried as the King of Heaven.
"May I know what’s going on here, in my celestial throne hall, in my absence, without even my knowledge?" His firm and authoritative voice echoed through the majestic throne hall, each word he said was commanding, silencing everyone.
He then turned to look at the other deities. "What was so important that you all couldn’t wait for me to come out of seclusion?"
All the deities fell silent, having nothing to say.
His gaze locked with Isis’, strictly demanding an answer.
"My Sovereign," Isis offered a polite nod as she addressed him, her expression calm and composed—as if she had done nothing wrong. "It’s good that you are here, so you can make the decision yourself and bring justice to the Heaven Realm, as you have always done."
Grianor simply looked at her, unaffected by her sweet flattery, waiting for the answer he had asked for.
Keeping her calm under his scrutinizing gaze, Isis looked at Drayce and Morpheus as she said, "I captured these two intruders who were trying to take our captives—those two young earthly women." She still looked down on Ember and Seren, not recognising them for their powers. "These intruders are the mates of those two women."
Grianor first looked at Drayce, whose darkness was visible to his divine senses. The darkness was similar to one he had known—the Devil. Not just the darkness, but even their appearances were similar. He could tell Drayce was a young dragon, the Devil and Evanthe’s son.
But then Grianor looked at Morpheus and was silent for a moment, as if something struck his mind. His gaze carried a look of recognition. He watched how close and possessive Morpheus’ presence was with Ember, the reincarnated deity.
"You are her mate?" Grianor asked Morpheus, clearly surprised. In her past life, Ember was with the God of War—but in this life... If the God of War were here and had witnessed this, what would he have felt?
Isis understood what Grianor was thinking and said, "My Sovereign, she has chosen another man for herself in this life. Now you understand what I used to say—she never loved the God of War. She was simply using him for his powers, and then she—"
Grianor raised his hand to stop her. "It’s all in the past."
Meanwhile, the four captive earthlings looked at each other as they thought, ’So none of the deities are truly aware of Draven’s existence in the mortal world.’
Meanwhile, Solon thought, ’The Deity of Fire has two mates in the mortal world. I wonder how the God of War would react to knowing her two mates—a dragon and a divine eagle.’
