Seeing the waiter coming in to take Lilin away, Corinne loosened her grip on the little girl's arm and let the waiter lead her out.

After that, everyone told Corinne not to risk her own life to save strangers in the future and went back to eating.

However, Corinne was still skeptical about the whole thing. Lilin was obviously not a stupid child. In fact, she seemed intelligent and well-spoken. How could she not know where her table was?

When Benjamin heard the waiter who had just come to pick up Lilin say that her family was in the lobby downstairs, he guessed that Jeremy might be among them. He wanted to go down and have a look.

After he slipped out, he quickened his pace to chase the waiter and Lilin. In his haste, however, he missed a step and almost fell down.

'Thank god someone saved me, or I would've died!' thought Benjamin with shock. He turned and was about to thank the person who caught him when his eyes widened.

"Mom… Mommy! Why are you out, too?"

Corinne did not intend for him to find out that she followed him out. She wanted to see where he was going. However, she could not stand by and do nothing when she saw Benjamin was about to fall.

Benjamin lowered his eyes and sighed. "She's my aunt…"

'Aunt?' Corinne was a little surprised. "What do you mean? Is she Sophia's sister?"

Benjamin nodded. "Yes, she's Sophia's sister."

"I thought Sophia was Adam's only child? So where did her sister come from?" asked Corinne skeptically.

"They're half-sisters born to different mothers. Sophia was an only child before Lilin came along. Many people didn't know about Lilin and her mother because they liked to keep a low profile."

Corinne tried to process what Benjamin said. 'If the girl just now was Sophia's sister, then wouldn't her mother be Sophia's stepmother? In other words, the person I saved back then is Adam's current wife?'
