The Contract novel Chapter 10

I tossed and turned before opening my eyes and seeing the sunlight shine brightly through my curtains. Another Day is here already and I honestly just want to lay in bed and drown in my feelings. I know you are all thinking, what feelings are you talking about, Kendall? What's going on? It's Ryan. Every since that night at his place, I have been having these crazy ass feelings for him that I have NEVER had for someone else and it is absolutely crazy! It's like, I hate being away from him and when I am with him, I don't want to let go. I know he is engaged and I should have known better but the heart wants what it wants and I think my heart wants Ryan.

"So you think you love him?" Kasey asked.

"I like him but I don't know about loving him." I replied while sipping my smoothie.

"Kendall, the way you are speaking to me sounds like you love him and you should have known NOT to sleep around with a married man, contract or not but you are human, and we all make mistakes. You just have to learn from them but you've fallen for this guy. How do you know if he feels the same way, he could be just acting any kind of way towards you because you signed a contract. Just be careful, but regardless someone is going to end up hurt." Kasey explained.

I sat there and out my head down before sighing because she was right, "Kasey, I honestly don't know what to do."

She looked at me and shook her head, "You know what you gotta do, Kennie."

Ryan.

I sat in my office typing away on my laptop as Danielle sat in the chair rubbing her stomach.

"Oh my god babe, What if we name the girl Christina and the boy Christian." She yelled.

"You are only a couple of weeks along, Danielle. We have a long time before we can choose names, let's find out the gender first." I replied without a care in the world.

You Guessed It! Danielle is pregnant. We found out earlier this morning and she has been working my damn nerves about it. I may be ready for this marriage shit but I do not know about kids just yet. It's a little too early for that, that is why I always use protection, but I guess the condom broke.

"Mr. August, your next meeting is in the next hour." My Assistant, Brianna stated.

"Thank you, Bri." I replied with a wink.

"Why you gotta flirt in my face, though?" Danielle asked.

I scoffed before replying, "I'm not flirting, Just a gesture that I always do."

I stood up and grabbed Danielle by her hand and kissed it, "You make me happy, and I'm glad to have met such a wonderful soul like you. I will admit, I'm a little nervous for this parenthood shit but I got you baby. We in this together, and that is forever. Pretty soon, you will have my last name, and I will be yours forever. I don't want anyone else but you Danielle." I lied.

"I know baby, and I love you so much. I love you more than-" Danielle stated before being cut off by Kendall.

"More than anything in the world, so sweet." Kendall slured with a joint in her hand.

I sat there and looked down as Danielle looked at me confused.

"Congrats on the baby and marriage. I wish you both nothing but the best. I'm leaving." She replied.

"Where are you going?" I asked.

"Why are you worried?" Danielle asked.

"I'm going away from you." Kendall replied.

"So you are just gonna leave me?" I asked.

"Why is it your concern, Ryan?" Danielle yelled.

"I ain't lookin' forward to staying in this shitty city anymore, and like Danielle said, why is it your concern? I tore up your contract up by the way." Kendall replied, "Just like you tore my heart, Goodbye Ryan."

And that is when reality hit me, Kendall was gone.
