Leopold's icy eyes glinted ominously in the sunlight, “So, you plan to control Megan with poison?"

A sly grin crept across Aurelia's lips, "What good is ambition when your life is in someone else's hands?"

Megan dreamed of becoming the matriarch of the Stirling family, and of her son being the heir. Aurelia intended to turn those dreams into nightmares, banishing her to the deepest pits of despair.

Leopold reached out, affectionately stroking her hair, his touch laden with indulgence.

Aurelia took a sip of her coffee and then stood up.

"lL should pay Megan a visit at the hospital."

She was eager to witness the potency of their sinister plan.

Leopold accompanied her to the hospital.

Megan lay in the ICU, restrained to prevent self-harm or harm to the unborn child within her.

"I can't take it anymore. I'm dying." Her voice was hoarse with tears and screams, and she had never known such terror.

Donning sterile apparel, Aurelia walked in to see Megan covered in blisters, beyond recognition.

A chilling smile played on Auretia's beautiful face, "Fear not, death doesn't scare me. I told you, if you dare to harm Kane, I'll make you wish for death. I always keep my promises."

Later that afternoon, Leopold returned.

Megan was weak, gasping for breath.

"The antidote, give it to me"

Leopold produced a small vial, the cure Aurelia had entrusted to him.

“Give me the last antibiotic, and you'll have the antidote."

Gritting her teeth, Megan wheezed, "The boss has it. He knows I'm poisoned and is furious, planning to punish Aurelia severely. He's divided the last antibiotic into six parts. Aurelia needs six more months of treatment to rid her bady of the superbug."
