Aurelia was at her wit’s end. Wasn’t it outrageous that he was asking this of her now when he was about to divorce her and marry another woman? 

Taking a deep breath, she shook her head, “No need, and I’ll speak for myself. I can handle it.” 

Leopold shot her a cold glare. If she couldn’t handle it, he would step in. 

Meanwhile, at a hospital in a neighboring city. 

Arnold barged into Georgina’s hospital room. 

The news of Aurelia’s pregnancy had prompted him to immediately wrap up his shoot and fly back. 

He pulled out a picture of Aurelia and asked, “Is this the woman you artificially inseminated?” 

Georgina glanced at the photo and nodded, “Yes, that’s her. She’s a stunner and impossible to forget.” 

It felt as if a bolt of lightning had struck Arnold. He was about to pass out from shock. 

“Out of all women, why do you choose her?” 

Why did she choose Aurelia, the girl he loved? 

Georgina explained, “She was the only virgin among those who came for the check–up. She’s pure and has never had a boyfriend. We chose her because she’s the safest bet. There’s no need to worry about any mishaps with a boyfriend. Once she got pregnant, we knew the child would definitely be of the sperm donor. No need for a paternity test.” 

Arnold clenched his fists and asked angrily, “Does it ever cross your mind that you’ve ruined a pure and innocent girl?” His voice trembled with rage. 

Georgina responded, “This girl was desperate for money. I heard her on the phone with her family, frantically trying to raise money for her brother’s treatment. She was scrimping and saving every day, surviving on just a plain bagel in the morning, not even sparing a dime for a cup of coffee. I thought if the procedure was successful, Ms. Stirling would reward her handsomely, and she could afford her brother’s treatment. I thought I was doing a good deed.” 

A good deed? 

Arnold was on the verge of losing it. 

Suppressing his fury, he sucked in a breath through gritted teeth, “This matter must not be disclosed to anyone, especially my aunt. Consider it as if you’ve forgotten it entirely. If you dare to say a word about it, I will make sure you vanish from this earth.” 

Leaving behind this warning, he stumbled out, his fist crashing into the wall. 

Why did it have to be Aurelia? Why Aurelia? 

He was going crazy. 

Three years ago, he had seen Aurelia’s calls and received her messages on WhatsApp, but he thought he had more important things to attend to. He chose to ignore her, thinking he shouldn’t let personal affairs distract him. 

Was fate punishing him for abandoning Aurelia, allowing them to cross paths again not to rekindle their past, but to make him lose her and live in regret for the rest of his life?

Evelyn was glowing every day, full of happiness. She had started preparing her body in hopes of becoming pregnant as soon as possible. 

In the morning, she got herself a bowl of soup, leaning back in her chair as she slowly savored it. 

Emma approached her and chuckled, “Are you nourishing your body, the future Mrs. Stirling?” 

Evelyn gave a light–hearted smile and said, “According to the Stirling family tradition, a son must mourn for three years after his father’s death and cannot marry. Unless the woman is pregnant, then an exception can be made. Leo hopes I can get pregnant as soon as possible so we can get married without waiting for the mourning period to end.” 

Emma said, “You’re making all of us green with envy.” 

A satisfied smile spread across Evelyn’s face. 

No model in the fashion industry didn’t admire Arnold and no socialite who didn’t fancy Leopold. 

Now, the eyes of the ladies in the high society were practically popping out of their heads in envy. They were going crazy with jealousy and resentment.
