Leopold thought, “No doubt about it, she’s a miser, always thinking about money. Her schemes are planned years in advance.” 

“Are you dreaming of becoming Mrs. Stirling?” He said. 

She immediately shook her head, her fervor reminiscent of a bobblehead doll. 

If she became a queen mother, wouldn’t that mean his game was over? 

“No, no, no, I don’t want to be Mrs. Stirling. Once the babies born, we’re getting a divorce. I won’t have any right to claim such a title.” 

Leopold’s lips tighten, his smile fading. For some reason, her words seem to irk him. 

“You’re right. Once the babies born, you’ll have no part in their lives.” 

Aurelia lowered her head, subconsciously rubbing her belly. A bitter feeling of regret washed over her. 

The babies were hers too, carrying her bloodline. After carrying it for nine months, she couldn’t help but feel some attachment. 

“I’m tired. It’s time for bed.” 

She took off her coat, lay down, and pulled up the covers, trying to digest her feelings. 

Leopold sat next to her, opening a book on fetal development, and started reading aloud. 

She was taken aback, not expecting him to suddenly start a bedtime story for their unborn children. 

His voice was gentle and deep, a stark contrast to his usual cold demeanor. 

Although she knew this tenderness was not for her, it still warmed her heart. 

She soon fell asleep. 

Leopold looked at her, deep in thought. His icy eyes softened like shooting stars, a change so subtle even 

he didn’t notice it. 

Then, his phone rang. It was Kevin, informing him that the soup spill was orchestrated. 

A sinister glint flashed in Leopold’s eyes. “I see.” 

The next day, at the Stirling mansion, Elara brought her daughter, Elowen. 

She was very dissatisfied with Leopold’s behavior the night before. 

“Leopold, you openly left with Evelyn in front of everyone. What about Elowen’s reputation? She’s becoming the laughing stock of high society.” 

Leopold’s gaze swept over Elowen coldly As he said, “Isn’t this mess her doing?” 

Elara was stunned. “What do you mean?” 

Leopold played a video. It showed the waitress who spilled the soup, crying. “A lady in a light purple dress asked me to do it. She was wearing a mask, so I couldn’t see her face. But I remember her dress had a beautiful rose embroidered on it. She offered me a huge sum, and I foolishly agreed.” 

Elowen recognized her own dress. 

It was a haute couture. 

Her face paled slightly. “This is a setup. I had nothing to do with this.” 

Leopold scoffed. “Isn’t this your usual modus operandi?” 

Elara glanced at her daughter. Elowen did have a history of playing pranks, but she had denied involvement yesterday. Elowen had always been truthful with her, so she believed her. 

“Elowen may have been a bit mischievous in the past, but she’s been behaving lately. I’m certain she’s not involved in this. Someone must be framing her.” 

Leopold’s eyes were icy, a chilling light flickering within. “Who would frame her?” 

“There are more people who dislike Evelyn than just Elowen.” Elara said. 

Elowen bit her lip, her eyes darting as if she’d thought of something. She raised her voice. “Could it be Aurelia? She’s competing with Evelyn for the director position. Evelyn’s been using her relationship with you to suppress her. She might have hired the waitress to burn Evelyn and then framed me to cover her tracks.” 

Leopold had never suspected Aurelia. She might be a bit cunning, but she never had ill intentions. 

“Your dress is unique in Elysium. Aurelia, a mere employee, couldn’t afford it even if she spent all her savings.”
