The loud crashing sound reverberated in the villa, and by the time Viola came back to her senses, Noah was already lying in a pool of blood. He seemed to have lost consciousness.
Viola's face became utterly pale as she scanned her surroundings anxiously. Seeing that the maid hadn't come around yet, she immediately returned to the bedroom and pretended that nothing had happened. She took off her clothes as she inched towards the bed.
Very soon, the maid's exasperated and anxious shout broke the silence of the villa.
"The little young master has fallen down."
"Call the ambulance now."
"Where is the young master?"
"Go call him now."
"Young master."
With a loud bang, the door to the bedroom was flung open, and when the two maids barging into the room saw the two person lying in bed, they were so shocked that their faces had become pale. They somehow forgot about what they were here for.
Viola's loud shrill pierced through the silence in the room as she hurriedly covered herself with a blanket.
Joseph was jolted awake at this point. He opened his eyes with a frown and was shocked when he saw Viola seemingly naked by his side. He instantly became sober as he asked unhappily, "Why are you here?"
Viola started to stammer with her cheeks completely flushed and her tears almost falling, "Joseph, you're so drunk that you even wa... want me to…"
Joseph propped his head with his hand and tried to recall what had happened with his entire brain throbbing. Nevertheless, he failed to recall anything at all. He then asked the maids impatiently, "Why are you guys here too?"
The maids standing at the door finally came back to reality as they said hurriedly, "No... Noah has fallen down the stairs and he has lost a lot of blood."
"What?"
Joseph suddenly raised his head and revealed a terrifying expression as he flung away his blanket and marched out of his room without even wearing his slippers. Viola who was behind was scrambling after him while trying to wear her clothes.
Noah who was unconscious had been sent to the hospital and very soon, the news reached Harrison's ears.
"What is going on?"
Harrison stood in front of the surgical theatre while interrogating Joseph with a nervous expression on his face, "Why would he fall down from the second floor for no reason? There are so many maids in your house, isn't there anyone who watch over him?"
Joseph sat on a sofa near the door of the theatre without saying anything. He was reeking an intense smell of alcohol at the moment.
"How much alcohols have you drunk?"
Harrison felt that he was going to explode, "How can you call yourself Noah's dad while you're behaving like that?"
"Sir, the young master has to go to some business meeting." The butler tried to explain on behalf of Joseph.
"It was a party organized by the Business and Commerce Association of Nanking. The young master couldn't decline that invitation."
As he was explaining, the door of the surgical theatre suddenly swung open. A doctor emerged from within.
Joseph got up immediately and asked, "Doctor, how is Noah?"
"His right arm is fractured and his left hand is dislocated. Other than that, there are just some external bruises. He didn't hit his head, so it isn't a serious one this time. The child will recover in no time."
Although the doctor had given them confidence, Harrison still felt his heart ache for Noah. When Noah who was lying on a bed had been pushed to his ward by the doctor and nurses, he stood in front of his bed and sighed, "Noah has an unfortunate life so far. He is so young, yet he has to experience bone fracture. It must be incredibly painful for him."
Joseph was still knitting his brows while finally feeling at ease after observing that Noah was sleeping peacefully. He then asked the butler of the Imperial villa area in eastern district, "What has actually happened today? Why did Noah fall down from the stairs?"
If this was a normal day, he would have long settled back into his room to sleep.
The butler was clueless about what had actually transpired, "I was checking the doors and windows when I heard the maids shouting out loud about Noah's unfortunate accident. By the time I reached the living room, I saw that he was lying on the ground amidst a pool of blood. I have asked everyone thoroughly but no one was by his side when that accident happened. He probably slipped or tripped over something."
Joseph's expression became darker and uglier as he listened to the butler's conjecture.
Stella was fuming as she shoved her feet into her socks, "Mum, you don't have any sympathy at all. Hmph, I don't want to talk to you anymore."
Hayden was really speechless upon hearing that. With one hand clinging to the door, her other hand was placed on her waist, "I don't have any sympathy? You're the weird one here, you know? You're asking me to go to the hospital with you in the middle of the night just because of a dream."
"I didn't dream of that, Noah really fell down from the stairs. It's true."
"Alright." Hayden didn't know whether she should laugh or cry, "Even if Noah has really fallen down the stairs, why are you acting so anxiously? He's not really your brother, so why are you so nervous?"
"Mum, give some way. I'm going now." Stella was fully dressed with her bag clinging to her back. She pushed Hayden's hand out of her way and went out of the bedroom.
"Hey, so you're really going to the hospital?"
Seeing that Stella was wearing her shoes near the entrance, Hayden was finally convinced that she was being serious.
"Alright, alright. My dear princess, please wait for me for a while. I'll get a change of clothes and go with you."
They had to wait for some time before successfully hailing a taxi. Hayden hesitated when thinking about their destination, "Which hospital are we heading to?"
"The Nanking Hospital for Special Surgery" Stella's tender voice sounded in the interior of the car, but at that moment she sounded very solemn.
She sounded like she really knew what she was doing.
Hayden was once again in doubt as she asked Stella, "Are you sure that you're not having a dream? How did you know that Noah has been hospitalized? Who told you about that?"
Stella was pouting when she replied, "I just know it."
"What? I must be crazy."
Hayden was really speechless now. She felt that she was doing what a crazy person would do as she followed her daughter out of the house in the middle of the night while abandoning sleep.
