"What do you intend to do? Do you intend to destroy me? What good will it do for your hotel if I'm wrecked?" Madison clenched her teeth and asked, "Are you willing to risk your job for a receptionist?"
Hayden scoffed, "I have nothing to fear and I don't intend to blow this out of proportion."
Madison sensed a trace of opportunity in what Hayden said and frowned.
"You certainly don't want the matter to be blown up. I can assure you that the hotel staff will delete whatever they've recorded on this incident. I can also guarantee that they won't leak this matter on social media but on one condition."
"Go ahead."
"Apologize to Lillian."
Madison was stunned when she heard this and pondered for a long time before agreeing reluctantly.
Thereafter, under the witness of several senior management of the hotel, Madison apologized to Lillian at the reception room. Lillian felt uneasy until Madison and the others left. Then she nervously held onto Hayden and asked, "Ms. Downey, will I still be fired?"
Hayden smiled, "The matter had been straightened out so why should you be fired? Next time when you face a problem, don't be so quick to resort to suicide. Your life is the most important."
Lillian heaved a sigh of relief, looked at Hayden with those tear-soaked eyes, and nodded, "Thanks, Ms. Downey."
"You shouldn't be thanking me for this. It was Benjamin who investigated this and you should thank him."
"Benjamin?"
Lillian was stunned and started to blush as she asked, "Where is he now?"
"Now? Perhaps at the café downstairs."
"Then I'll go and look for him."
Hayden crossed her arms and smiled when she saw Lillian regain some of her strength and spirits.
After Benjamin started to stay at the hotel, numerous young ladies went to her to ask about Benjamin's situation. It only went to show how much society placed importance on appearances.
Just as Hayden was about to leave, she heard Joseph's voice, "You're just several years older than that kid and you smiled like a mother caring over her child. Do you have a thing for mothering others?"
"Mothering others?" She immediately turned around and asked angrily.
"Mr. Beckham, this is a place of work, please do not crack this kind of joke."
"I never joke." Joseph frowned and teased, "I'm just curious how that chap would react if he found out that you sent Lillian to him."
Hayden didn't understand and asked, "What reaction?"
As they were chatting, two waitresses were passing by and one of them wanted to greet them but was pulled away by the other and said, "Don't you know what the relationship is between Mr. Beckham and Ms. Downey? You still dare to interrupt them?"
The other waitress was speechless.
"We'll take it as we didn't even see them…"
Hayden blushed and didn't know what to say.
"Hayden…" Joseph raised his hand and before it could land onto her shoulders, she stepped backward a couple of steps and said, "Mr. Beckham, please watch yourself."
He carried her down the roof in front of so many and then purposely mentioned their agreement at Lanxi Town. He should have a limit to the extent of his revenge. She could tolerate it for a moment but certainly not for her entire life!
"What would you like me to handle?" Magnus asked politely.
"During the stay of the VIPs, I want the manager in charge of receiving the VIPs to give her full attention to the VIPs. I want the manager to stay at the hotel from tomorrow night onwards.
The manager who was in charge of receiving the VIPs? Wasn't that Hayden?
Magnus reacted swiftly and asked Joseph, "As you directed previously, all the staff rooms had been cleared. So where will this manager stay?"
"The empty suite at the top level," Joseph answered as a matter of fact.
Magnus was stunned. Wasn't that the suite that Joseph normally stayed in? Wasn't this arrangement too obvious? Was he trying to make a statement to everybody?
It looked like he had to take into consideration Mr. Hawkins' future wife's concerns when he handled things from now on.
On the other end, Hayden was exhausted after she sorted out the issues. She returned to her office and sat down on her chair and exhaled a long breath.
She was staring blankly when she noticed a container on the table. She sat up and looked at the black container. Through the clear cover, she could see a deep-fried chicken drumstick, stir-fried vegetables and shredded pork, and a portion of brown rice. The combination was very appetizing.
She picked up the container and there was a note under it. It said, "Even a CEO doesn't always have the time to eat when and what he wants. Fast food is a logical choice."
The words were purposefully written.
Hayden's eyes lit up just as her heart warmed up as she grinned, "I'll never believe that you eat fast food. How can you be so stingy when you buy someone a meal?"
She started to open the container and it was the regular taste that she was used to but somehow it tasted particularly delicious and heartwarming.
