The CEO Gets What He Wants novel Chapter 587

Chapter 587 Finally Married

Meanwhile, the family was having a relatively pleasant meal at the Moore residence.

What surprised Avery the most was Allie not nitpicking and harshly insulting her like usual at each meal.

Allie's eyes, which looked like Cayden's, were filled with hatred as she often glanced at Avery. However, she could only glare at Avery, not daring to say a word to insult the latter.

Avery was confused.

Cayden and Avery sent the twins to school after the meal.

After dropping off the children at their destination, Cayden turned the car around and drove toward Bahlemia Street, which Avery was familiar with.

As the road led to the bustling city center, it was very congested despite being wide.

Especially since it was the weekend, it was common for traffic jams to occur on that road.

Avery sat in the passenger seat and patiently stared at the traffic light with Cayden.

Initially, she thought he would bring them back home.

However, she got curious when she saw they were on the familiar congested road. “Cayden, it's too congested here. Why aren't we using the freeway?”

Although it was a further journey to return home using the freeway, it would have been much faster than the congested Bahlemia Street. They could have saved half an hour on the road.

Cayden turned to look at Avery, his eyes meeting her beautiful ones. Instead of answering her question, he replied, “There's somewhere I'd like to take you.”

Avery did not expect that he would keep her in suspense.

However, she quietly leaned back into her seat when she remembered that he would never do something without a purpose.

As they slowly moved through the traffic, they finally arrived at City Hall. Avery was frozen in shock as she stood before the building's entrance.

Did Cayden bring me here to register our marriage?

Realizing his intentions, Avery stuttered, “A-Are we going to register our marriage? W-Why didn't you tell me earlier? I didn't take my ID card or my household registry...”

Cayden linked fingers with her and stared at her helpless expression. “Don't worry. I brought everything.”

With that, he held up the black document file in his other hand to show her.

Figuring out that he had come prepared, Avery was pleased despite her complaining, “Registering our marriage is an important matter. Why couldn't you have told me about it earlier?”

Cayden lowered his gaze to the slight bump of her stomach. A smile appeared on his lips as he gently replied, “We've delayed it for such a long time. We should've registered our marriage ages ago. I want our child to have a proper identity when born.”

Avery felt warmth spread across her chest.

However, she purposely twisted his words to tease him. She awkwardly said, “I knew it. You're in a rush to register our marriage because of this child...”

Perhaps that was how all women were—soft-spoken yet contradicting. Despite being spoiled by their lover, they often still have insecurities and lose confidence. They must receive a guarantee from their lover to feel at ease.

Cayden leaned over and stared at Avery. “Silly girl. You know exactly why I'm willing to register our marriage. Putting our marriage aside, I can assure you that I have had zero female friends since Zach and Rory were born. Is that not enough to prove my love for you?”

Avery lowered her gaze and smiled.

Afterward, they went to the grand hall to proceed with their marriage certificate.

A female staff took the documents that Cayden and Avery passed her. She carefully went through each document and made comparisons.

However, she was in disbelief and looked up to glance at Avery when she saw Avery's divorce certificate.

She was baffled. How did Avery, a woman who was stepping into her second marriage, manage to find an excellent and admirable husband like Cayden? Plus, this is her husband's first marriage.

Avery could care less about the female staff's reaction. She still had a smile on her lips, not caring about the female staff's strange look.

Cayden and Avery thought it was okay if only they knew the truth of their relationship. They did not need or want to waste time and effort explaining to others.

Perhaps the female staff was used to seeing situations like this. She put away her shock and composed herself as she reviewed the documents. After making sure there were no problems, she stamped their certificates.

She then passed two marriage certificates to Cayden and Avery. She had on a professional smile and said, “Mr. Moore, Ms. Rumpley, from now on, you two are legally husband and wife. Congratulations! I wish you happiness and an everlasting marriage!”

“Thank you!” Avery exclaimed happily as she took the marriage certificate.

Cayden also nodded politely to the female staff, thanked her, and wrapped his arm around Avery's waist as they got up and left.

The female staff stared at the way Cayden spoiled and protected his wife. She was a little envious of Avery when she saw the tender and loving look that Cayden gave Avery.

It's evident that this man loves his wife very much.

She suddenly felt that the woman named Avery was blessed. Even if she was stepping into her second marriage, she had such a good husband. Regardless of her appearance or aura, the power and status behind the man were stunning. It was strong enough to shut anyone's mouth from running.

How much luck would I require to meet such a fine man and be showered with his unconditional love?
