The Breaking Point of Love novel Chapter 851

That evening, Jordyn ate a few skewers of meat, played with her building blocks for a while, and spent some time looking at the stars before heading back to rest at the hotel.

The next day, aside from discussing work with Matthias and some of the company employees, Celeste spent most of her time with Jordyn.

Matthias and Kieran both made a few more attempts to get closer to Jordyn.

Every time, Jordyn would politely greet them and thank them, but somehow, the distance between them never seemed to close.

At first, they assumed she was simply shy around strangers. But it didn't take long for them to realise that Jordyn was deliberately keeping them at arm's length.

She simply didn't want to "be friends" with them.

Although Matthias felt deeply sorry for Celeste over what had happened in the past, he had never completely blamed Jordyn for liking Wynn, as she was just a child. Furthermore, Jordyn was Celeste's daughter. How could he not genuinely care for her?

But seeing Jordyn's attitude now still left Matthias feeling a little uncomfortable.

He couldn't help saying, "She looks polite enough, but she's actually refusing to let us get close to her. Could she be holding a grudge against me for what I said about Trevor and Wynn at Professor Lancaster's banquet?"

Celeste shook her head. "I don't know."

She had naturally noticed that Jordyn didn't want to get close to Matthias and the others.

And it wasn't just Matthias. Compared with before, Jordyn was distant even with Celeste.

Her personality really had changed.

Celeste didn't know why, but Jordyn hadn't voluntarily told her anything—not even once.

Matthias actually didn't care how Jordyn treated him. He was simply worried about Celeste. He didn't expect that even after learning so much at Philip's banquet, Jordyn would still side more with Trevor and Wynn.

However, there wasn't much Matthias could do about it. He merely patted Celeste on the shoulder before turning his attention back to work.
