The Blue-eyed Wolf In The Woods novel Chapter 56

"I can't leave Belle and Mia alone. I'll be okay, and you and your pack will do what you have to, to stop him." I urged to him.

I could see he seemed defeated, knowing I wouldn't stop arguing to get my way. "Fine, but I'm following you there and the moment something fishy starts to happen all you need to do it think of me, and I'll be able to know you're in danger."

"Really? How?" I asked.

"I can perceive thoughts and emotions. Yours are especially heightened for me since you're my mate. I can't hear exactly what your thinking, but I know if you're angry or happy or distressed. That how I found you all those times you've gotten hurt." He replied simply.

WOW.

"Krystal, honey, dinner is ready. Travis, would you like to join?" My mom came through the door of thw sun room to ask.

She eyed our close quarters with a slight smirk on her face.

I mentally faced palmed myself.

Mom would do anything to know I was actually putting an effort into finding "love."

She was an old school romantic.

She and my father met during the Gulf war, in the Middle East. My dad was a Lieutenant general in the Army, and my mother was a Nurse.

They fell in love and once his tour was over they came home and started a family.

But my dad had pride in our country and couldn't say no to re-enlisting after 9/11.

He was killed by a suicide bomber in the middle of the of his first tour back overseas. I was 7, Charlie was 4.

He doesn't really remember Dad.

I only have vague and hzy memories of him.

But Mom hasn't found anyone since. She says he was her one and only, and they'll be together again one day.

Only a few months later was wen I first met Travis, my wolf.

I think it was because I needed someone, someone to protect me the way my Dad used to.

I looked at Travis expectantly, hoping he'd stay.

He smiled one o the brightest smiles I've ever had the pleasure of seeing.

My heart skidded to a halt.

"Sure, thank you Mrs. Burke." He said as he turned his heartbreakingly beautiful smile towards my mother.

I almost jumped for joy, but I forced my body not to make a fool out of myself.

I slowly got up, forcing myself to restrain the giddiness, and followed my Mom into the kitchen with Travis following behind me.

Who the f *$! Is that guy!?

Standing near Krystal's car.

And she was just ogling him.

He looked pissed.

His dark black hir and 5 o'clock shadow made him seem somewhat familiar.

But I couldn't place where from.

He was staring us down from his side of the parking lot.

I started to feel a growl forming at the base of my throat, making it's way out of my mouth.

At the sound of my growl Krystal turned to look at me.

Then she turned back to look at yhe guy standing by her car.

That's when I heard it.

I growled again, louder this time, sparking a gasp to come from Belle.

Hmmm...

Well she was lookin mighty tasty...

No. Dom, keep your eye on the prize.

You will get Krystal.

I hurried over to my black Camero steaming with rage.

I can't believe she just sped off with him.

I drove home in a haze.

I couldn't sit still.

I decided to go for a run.

I ran around town down the blocks in a blur, in human form up and down the rich streets with huge mansions, but as I neared the poorer part of town I started to edge towards the woods so I could let the wolf out.

Once I let my inner demon take over it felt amazing.

My speed doubled and I could see and hear 10x better.

I decided to check up on Krystal.

I ran through the woods, until I started to reach her property.

I could already smell her.

And then I smelt him.

I growled lowly, not wanting either of them to hear me, as I watched that guy follow MY GIRL into her house.
