The Blue-eyed Wolf In The Woods novel Chapter 30

My eyes must have popped out of my head.

"Kidding. Kidding. Gee, you looked like a deer caught in headlights... come on, just lay next to me... fully clothed." He said sweetly as he tugged on my hand and pulled me under the blankets.

I had forgotten we were still holding hands.

I quickly let go and nodded my head and started to climb under the covers.

I turned towards my night table and turned on my space heater which I kept close by during the winter. I would get so cold I would stand in front of it and get dressed.

Then I made sure my heating blanket was turned up all the way.

I folded the covers back and as i finished climbing in I started throwing half of my stuffed animals on the floor.

How petrifying. I must seem like a 10 year old, keeping tons of special stuffed animals atop my bed.

"Sorry about the messy bed. Erhmm..." I mumbled.

"No. I liked them. Put them back!" He whined as he picked up most of the animals in shoved on the ground.

"They'll keep us even warmer." He said.

I laughed. Okayyy... so he was cute... and sweet.

He climbed in and shamelessly grabbed me and pulled me in close to snuggle.

Yup. It was settled. If I died right now, I would die perfectly happy and content being next to most likely the sexiest man to ever grace this Earth.

They'd find me to be a big puddle of hormones.

"You know, this is definitely not how I imagined our first meeting to go." He confessed.

"Oh you mean you didn't plan on getting me in bed with you the first time we met face to face?" I said with a light laugh and then quickly clamped my hand over my mouth.

Oh God. Why am I so dámn weird.

I could feel his chest shake with laughter next to me.

"No, I did not expect to get you in bed and have a chance to sleep next to you. I never thought you'd even want to talk to me after knowing what I am." He said sadly.

I clicked my tounge. "Come on Travis. You've been around me for how long, 10 years? Maybe not as a human, but don't you think you know me well enough by now? To know that I'd never judge you?" I said, kind of offended he thought I wouldn't accept him.

He turned into his side and leaned his head into his hand so he could look at me.

"Krystal, you don't understand what it's like being me. I'm a man, who is also a wolf. It makes no logical sense to most humans. If people found out about us, they'd hunt us, and conduct experiments on us, how could I imagine that a normal beautiful girl would want to talk to me once knowing the truth, let alone accept me."

Wait. Did he say beautiful?

I dreamt of blue pools of ice, and sparks of fire licking at my skin.

I woke with my heart racing and my cheeks flushed.

It was him. He was making me feel this way.

But it was cold next to me.

He had left.

My heart sunk.

Of course he left. He didn't belong inside my house.

He was supposed to be in the woods, as a wolf.

I couldn't expect him to fight it for me. I could tell how uncomfortable he was last night.

But he still changed. For me... why?

I don't even know him.

And then I let him in my house and let him sleep in my bed. What was I thinking?
