I'm feeling good today, more than usual which probably has to do with the overall success of our launch and the fact that I can't stop smiling when I get texts from Nick.

The last few days we've both been busy, but he makes a habit to call every other night just to catch up. I can tell that he is making more of an effort with me which is making me very happy.

Everyone at work notices but right now I don't care for their opinions good or bad. I am just glad that everything in my life seems to be going according to plan.

"where are you going, "Jack says from him office as I rush out of a meeting and go to grab my stuff.

"lunch, "I say before running out of the office. for days I have been constantly thinking about growing some balls and going to surprise nick for dinner. By dinner, I mean cooking some food and surprising him at the office.

He works long hours nearly everyday which makes it difficult for me to see him.

I had my very own teriyaki beef cooking at home in my slow cooker. After driving home, I rushed into the kitchen and checked on it. I stirred it, it smelled delicious and just how I liked it with its rich beef sauce that filled my kitchen.

After packing it in some takeaway boxes I practically ran upstairs to drop my big work bag and change into some trainers instead of my high heeled boots.

My happy mood took a wild turn when I saw my mom's name flash up on my phone.

She's been calling me all day but I've kind of been passing it off since I'm working.

I accepted the call and put her on speaker.

"About time you answered me" I heard her say through the phone. I rolled my eyes "mom I've been working, what's up" I thought she would be happy to get some quality time with dad.

Is he that boring?

No, I know why, because dad met up with his old friends to go to play golf.

"your father is having a small party at the house this weekend. Invite Nick will you darling" I stopped what I was doing.

Is she serious?

"why can't you, probably have him on speed dial" she could easily invite him herself, not that I have anything against inviting him.

It's not like it would be the first time, he's already spent time with both of my parents, so this wasn't anything that scared me.

"do I sense some jealousy in your tone" I stare at the phone.

YES!!!

"Just do it," she says before hanging up on me.

Of course, I was going to do it, but I wouldn't mind if he declined. I quickly drove to the address of his offices. James had called in prior just so security wouldn't kick me out.

I wonder if women just try and get in to see him, or maybe he's had a previous girlfriend do this for him.

After parking and paying I walked towards the office doors. The moment I stepped in I had to go through security which wasn't too bad, I mean the woman eyes my food with some scrutiny but nonetheless, she allowed me to go through.

I leant on the front desk. "Hi, James called earlier. I'm here to see Nick" I put on my sweetest smile that I could possibly do hoping that she would just let me in.

After a few seconds of her looking at me, she allowed me in and gave me directions. I followed them and walked up the stairs to the first floor. I was amazed at how big this place was it must have had about 3 floors full of large conference rooms and offices where people were working.

"enjoying yourself beautiful" I heard his deep voice before I even saw him. I looked up and met the eyes of Nick, he stood at the top of the stairs with his arms crossed. His mouth was curved into one sexy smile as he watched me.

I was busy admiring the beautiful design of this place I wasn't paying attention to what was around me.

I met him finally. "Hey," I said feeling slightly nervous. I didn't know whether he would be happy or annoyed that I'm here because he is a busy man and I wouldn't want to distract him from his work.

"I was just about to head out for lunch, but I see you've got that covered" he motioned to the bag of food I brought with me. I noticed that another guy had walked out of his office with his coat.

Oh right, yeah, the food

"I mean I just came to drop it off, you guys can head out" damn it, where did my confidence go. This is just pathetic on my part.

Before I could place it down on the table the other man stopped me. "and miss out on this food, not a chance "he said grabbing my hand and taking the bag from me.

"I'm Josh, by the way, why don't you come join us," he said looking between me and Nick.

I shook his hand, "nice to meet you I'm."

"Selene, I know," he said smirking at Nick who wasn't even phased in the slightest.

"I love your brand, my sister just begged me to buy your new collection, "he said rolling his eyes.

Oh, he knew me already, well this is new. I had thought Nick might have talked about me, but I think I prefer the real answer.

I turned around to face him. "hey beautiful" he whispered rubbing his fingers along my waist.

"I hope I didn't ruin anything," I said to him. He shook his head "if anything you just made my day. I've spent 5 hours in here stressing about work, I needed this I needed you" with every word felt his getting closer to me.

I moved my fingers to the back of his neck pulling him towards me. Nick closed the gap and kissed me softly.

I moaned quietly as Nick took control and kissed me with more urgently.

I found myself moving more into his lap so that I was straddling him. "you know, I saw you walking from your car into the building. From now on you can park with me so no more paying" he said finally moving back to let us both breaths.

Dang it, I thought I could be a surprise, turns out he already knew that I was here.

"it's not expensive Nick," I told him.

He tightened his hold on me. "I know but it's safer inside, your car is not safe in a public car park" he makes it sound like we're in a dangerous part of the city. Also, does he really think ill come her all the time?

This is a one-off.

"does that mean you want me to bring food more often," I said cheekily, but from the reaction, he gave me it wasn't a joke.

Honestly, I don't really have a problem with that. it was nice to have lunch with him instead of eating out with the others.

"that's exactly what it means, I also love spending time with you" damn him and his charming ways.

"on the subject of spending time with each other, I was wondering if you'll come and join me this weekend?" Nick angled his head.

Not suspicious at all Selene.

"Are you asking me on a date?" he said smiling.

I guess you could call it that.

"Yeah, my dad's having a party where's his inviting my everyone and if you wanted you could come... with me" I added.

When the hell did, I become nervous. I swear I lose all confidence around this man, but in a weird way, I wouldn't have it any other way. "I'll be there," he said before leaning down again and kissing me softly.

I wrapped my arms around his neck kissing him back.
