Twila stormed off from Eltham, her voice laced with accusation, “Is it because mom was married before? Or do you think she’s not good enough for you?”
Eltham’s barely held patience evaporated in an instant, “Twila.”
“I’ll say it again!”
“Your mother and I have been over for a long time. If she hadn’t played her games...”
There wouldn’t even be a Twila!
Twila, taken aback by his sternness, stumbled backwards.
“First thing tomorrow morning, I’m taking you to the hospital, and you will apologize to them!”
Spoiled rotten by her grandmother, Twila was in no mood to apologize. Pushing past Eltham, she stormed upstairs, muttering about how dad has turned mean!
Eltham furrowed his brows.
Standing up, he noticed Hestia lingering at the door.
Tentative and apprehensive.
“What are you doing here?”
Hestia swallowed hard, “This mess is on Twila. I’ve already apologized to Ms. Lynette—”
Eltham felt a surge of annoyance, “Hestia, I’ve been more than fair to you. Why come back?”
He never took to Hestia.
After an eight-year separation, to suddenly show up with a daughter, making Brittany the target of criticism, his disdain for Hestia only grew.
Hestia’s face tensed, “Eltham, I—”
“You’ve raised Twila to be this way. You need to reflect on that,” Eltham’s expression darkened. “You and I were over long ago. Brittany wasn’t the other woman. If you can’t discipline Twila properly, then I’ll step in.”
“As for you, there’s no need for you to stay.”
Hestia panicked, “Eltham, it wasn’t intentional. I don’t want to leave Twila. I don’t need anything else, just Twila.”
“If you care so much about Twila, why bring her back in the first place?”
After Eltham left, Hestia collapsed to the ground.
It wasn’t her choice to come back.
They had brought her back!
Hestia calmed herself down and went to Twila’s room.
Twila’s face was flushed from crying.
Isaac caressed her cheek, “Get some rest. I’ll handle everything.”
With Isaac by her side, Brittany felt an unparalleled sense of security.
After Brittany fell asleep, Isaac left the hospital.
“Whichever hand Twila used, cut it off.”
“As for the teacher, deal with all of them.”
Nathan was shocked by Isaac’s ruthlessness, “Mr. Salter, Twila is just a child, are you sure—”
“Having second thoughts?”
Isaac eyed Nathan, “Or have you developed a fondness for Hestia? Planning to defy me?”
Nathan had always shown an unusual kindness towards Hestia, something Isaac was aware of but never mentioned. Nathan was his most trusted man, but if Nathan harbored other intentions, Isaac wouldn’t show mercy.
Nathan dared not, “Mr. Salter, that’s not what I meant.”
He just thought that for someone as young as Twila, cutting off her hand was excessively cruel!
“Nathan.”
