The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart (Brittany and Isaac) novel Chapter 1014

News about Enoch getting beaten up and dumped in the washroom spread like wildfire through the small town of Craneville.

The very next morning, an audio clip of Enoch bad-mouthing Brittany leaked online.

Yuri was shocked. Enoch, who always appeared as gentle as a lamb, turned out to be a snake in the grass. He immediately cut ties with the Anderson family.

Furious, the Andersons confronted Enoch, giving him a beating so severe he nearly ended up on his deathbed.

"Dad, I can't take this anymore," Enoch whimpered, bloodied and sprawled on the ground.

Rafferty, with a face like thunder, kicked him in the chest, "Do you have any idea how much effort I put into getting the Lynette family to even glance your way? And you, you just had to ruin it, tearing down years of friendship between our families!"

Enoch, stubborn as ever, retorted, "Brittany is just damaged goods—"

"Damaged goods? Do you know how many people would kill to be with Brittany?"

Rafferty was livid, "The entire Lynette fortune is at her disposal, and after her previous marriage, she's the sole owner of all that wealth. Do you have any idea what she's worth?"

Enoch paled, "But, the Lynettes have a son—"

He thought he could get away with his backbiting because, after all, Brittany was just a daughter, unlikely to inherit the family fortune in his eyes.

"Are you an idiot? Brittany's capabilities are well recognized. Do you think Yuri's will was a joke?"

Rafferty grew angrier by the second, "Look at the mess you've made. The Lynettes never cared for you, and now you've lost all face."

Regret twisted in Enoch's gut.

"Dad, I can apologize."

He thought an apology might fix things, unaware that the Lynettes wouldn't give him the time of day!

"After you heal, you're off to the branch office."

Rafferty, fearing Yuri's revenge, immediately distanced himself from Enoch, "And stay out of Craneville unless given permission."

Enoch tried to protest but passed out from the pain.

...

Enoch's beating had Ysabel clapping with glee.

"Well done!"

"Dad, this isn't your fault."

Brittany knew Yuri was just looking out for her. They never expected Enoch to be so two-faced.

Yuri sighed, "I won't bring up matchmaking again."

On their last day of the holiday, Brittany and Daniel visited a secluded restaurant in the resort, known for its exquisite flavors, attracting a steady flow of customers despite its location.

The mother and son duo caught everyone's eye, brushing off advances from three men.

Pouring Daniel a glass of juice, Brittany reassured, "Here, honey, have some juice."

Daniel, with a worried frown, asked, "Mom, would you like those men?"

With Daddy gone and Mom so lovely, he feared she might be taken away.

The thought alone troubled Daniel; he couldn't bear the idea of another man being with his mom.

"Of course not," Brittany said, tickling his nose, "Mom's not looking for a boyfriend right now."

"Can you wait for Daddy then?" Daniel looked up with hopeful eyes.
