The Billionaire Husband’s Betrayal novel Chapter 14

Chapter 11: Claire’s POV

I arrive at Leo’s home. Normally I would say ‘our home‘ but it didn’t feel that way after everything that’s happened today.

I enter the house and it’s once comforting warmth has shifted to bitter coldness. It didn’t matter. I was simply here to get my things and head to Jasmine’s. She was more than willing to let me stay with her while I figure things out.

I’m sure after my refusal to apologize to Charlotte that Leo wouldn’t mind my absence. I start gathering my things from our bedroom when I feel the front door open. I didn’t expect him to be home so soon. I thought he’d stay by Charlotte’s side – like he always does.

As I continue packing, Leo enters the room and immediately looked anxious. He grabs my hand.

“Where are you going?”

I continue looking at the ground.

I can deal with the rest.” He tries holding my hands to look into my eyes but I just stare at our hands. I was furious.

I turn to make sure Leo had heard me and his expression told me this was the last thing he expected. He was in shock.

I finish my packing and bring my belongings to the taxi awaiting me downstairs. As I filled the taxi with my last bag, I look up at our bedroom window. Leonardo is standing there – watching.

I turn away and enter the taxi. Once the door closes, I release the tears I could no longer contain.

I sobbed relentlessly. Leaving my husband pained me greatly. I’ve love him for over five years. But I couldn’t live in Charlotte’s shadow any longer. It was too much for me to bear. I had new priorities. Y didn’t want to lose our child

The child I still hadn’t told him about… even after the opportunity he had given me to share.
