Maverick POV.
The MC is waiting outside the building, ready to storm the place. I can see some of the members of the Sons Of Hades. One in particular sees me and I know who he is. He is called Lucky and is Hank’s son.
He nods his head once at me and I look at Wild Child and nod for him to follow me. The Princes Of Darkness are in penguin suits and I’m so uncomfortable. The bloody bowtie is strangling me and I can’t wait to take it off.
“Lucky, what a coincidence.” I say to him and he looks at me and I now know who has been feeding us the intel. He is nothing like his father, and Melody would talk about her friend called Lucky. He and a few of his brothers would bring Melody food and clothes. So for that, I am grateful to him. He did try to get her out, but was caught.
He spent two weeks in the cells for insubordination and was kept away from Melody until I took her away from there.
“Outlaw, Wild Child. I know you are here for Harmony.” Wild child steps up to him and he is evenly matched with him.
“It was you right?” Wild Child asks and Lucky nods once and I smirk at this as some of the club members come forward. These are the ones who are happy with how the club is going.
“Lucky, what do we have here?” One of them sneers when Lucky turns and faces him, but not before punching him. We act quickly with the help of the brothers who are on Lucky’s side.
“Get them locked up!” Wild Child shouts and the rest of the MC act as they capture the men who are on the ground.
The first scream comes from inside the building. I look at Wild Child and we run up the steps and through the revolving doors with Lucky behind us as we push through the screaming people, and that is when I hear a roar.
“What was that?” Wild Child asks, and Lucky looks at us.
“Oh, shit!” he says just as a big cat comes barrelling out of the auditorium and gun fire ripples through the air.
The tiger cross panther, I think, swipes at men and women as we move closer and we slip past it and into the auditorium. My breath hitches as I see Harmony in lingerie that doesn’t leave anything to the imagination, things I should only ever see her in. She is on the stage with a gun to her head.
Some man is behind her and Rebel has Felicity in the same position with a gun to her head. I can see the women from the Mother’s Revenge have Hank and several big wigs on their knees.
“Harmony.” I shout, and she looks up. She sees me and I walk closer to her.
“Maverick. Don’t come any closer.” She says and I see Felicity try to turn in Rebel’s hold, but she can’t. She starts screaming for me to save her. I won’t be.
Lucky and Wild Child look shell-shocked at seeing Harmony like that. Wild Child quickly looks away, and so does Lucky.
“Let her go,” I say to the man who has her, and he is looking frantically around.
“No, she is coming with me. This little bitch has just cost me fucking millions. She will pay it off on her back.” He spits.
“You will release my daughter.” Rebel says as she shoves Felicity forward. Scythe and Dante have their guns trained on the man on the stage.
“Or I kill yours.” My mouth hangs open. What the hell?
“Go ahead, she is nothing to me.” He speaks. I go to step forward and stop in my tracks. My eyes widen as I look behind Harmony and see the big cat stalking closer.
“Down!” I shout and her eyes widen as she drops to her knees as the big cat attacks the man and he screams as the cat tears in to him. I run with the club as she rolls off the stage.
She whistles and the cat looks up at her like it is listening to her. I run to her and ripping the tuxedo jacket off and she puts it on. I lift her into my arms and walk with her back outside. She is clinging to me.
I walk to the back of the cage and open the back up, stepping back as the huge cat stands and walks slowly before she sniffs the back and jumps in. The cage drops on the suspension with her added weight. She lies down as I shut the tailgate, careful of her tail.
I climb in beside Harmony when the cat pokes her head up and rests her chin on Harmony’s shoulder, chuffing. She reaches around and strokes the cat’s head. Before playfully bopping her on the nose.
“It’s ok Mystique. You will always be safe.” She says to it and I just watch is shock and awe at this woman.
We leave the area and I make a call to Ripper, who is with the jet and tell him we have Harmony and to get the jets ready for our guests and one Patger. How the hell will we fly with her?
“Don’t even think it. She has been through enough.” Harmony says, and I chuckle and kiss her head.
“But so have you. It would be safer for her to be sedated and in a cage.” I say to her and Harmony looks at me, full of defiance.
“Ok, but I won’t leave her side. I can’t imagine the horrible things they did to her. She is a beautiful creature and should be loved and respected. They didn’t do either of those things. It makes my heart sad to think of what she must have endured to be this killing machine.” She says and I just blink at her. I’m not going there. I’m not saying a damn word.
“Ok, but she can’t come to the clubhouse, you know that, right?” I say to her and she sits up and looks at me.
“Oh, she can and will. Until I find a suitable big cat conservation or zoo or something that will take her. She was raised by humans. She will be fine.” She says waving it off like Mystique is just a stray pup. Erm hello this is a big fricking cat. You know they kill and eat people.
“Besides, I have always been a cat lady.” Harmony says, chuckling and Hound chuckles from the front seat.
“Good luck convincing her otherwise. It will be sleeping in the bed before you know it.” Asshole!
