Dante POV.
I enter the penthouse and make my way to the bedroom and smile as I see both Scythe and Rebel laying entwined and naked on top of the quilt. Looks like they have finally taken that final step.
I take off my suit jacket and hang it up and unbutton my shirt as I make my way to the bathroom to shower. After I have showered and put on my sweats. I leave the bathroom bare-chested and barefoot.
I know Scythe told Rebel I was at the club, but that was a lie. I was actually at the house I bought for us all to live in. It is a surprise for Rebel.
It has plenty of room; I know Rebel wants kids and so do Scythe and I. Rebel would make a fantastic mom; she is fearless, strong and loving. She has a lot of love to give. Every day, I get a glimpse of that and it makes me love her more.
I have been worried that she will get bored with living a normal life, but she has taken to it like a duck to water. I whine comes from the living room and I move to see the newest addition to our chaotic little family.
I spoke to Alessa when the free-for-all contracts were active about getting a dog and she arrived this morning from Russia. Courtesy of the Volkovs. I move to the crate and open the door for her.
She bounds out. I move to my knees as she comes to me and climbs up on my lap. I run my hand through her soft fur as she whines again.
“You need the potty? Food, or little lady, do you just want cuddles?” I say to her and she flops on her back and I chuckle at her. I tickle her soft belly as her tongue hangs from the side of her mouth.
“Come on, let’s go and wake your mom and other dad.” I say to her. I haven’t named her. I wanted Rebel to have that honour. After all she has been through over the years this pup will no doubt be seen as her baby.
Rebel has a lot more experienced with these breeds, or any giant breed, for that matter. The Morettis always had German Shepherds because of Teagan, and then Angel had a Cane Corso. Rebel is accustomed to those breeds and the Tibetan Mastiff, which is what this little lady is.
“Come on.” I say in a soft voice as I walk towards the bedroom and I chuckle as the fur ball runs ahead. She is cute. She is black with tan feet and is so fluffy. She will be a monster when she is fully grown.
I watch from the open doorway as the ball of floof whines and jumps to try to get on to the bed. I chuckle softly, seeing her try again. I walk closer and lift her and place her at the foot of the bed and she bounds forward and straight to Rebel.
Rebel stirs as the pup licks her face while climbing all over her naked chest.
“What the … Oh hello pup.” Her voice is laced with sleep as she sits up and giggles as she picks up the pup and holds her up. “Where did you come from, pretty girl?” her voice is cooing in a baby voice and it does something to my insides. Would she be like this with our kids? She giggles again as she holds her to her chest.
“Ok, ok, you want to potty?” she asks her when the pup yips and pants. Rebel smiles at her. She hasn’t noticed me yet. Scythe groans and moves his eyes open and he shoots out of bed.
“Where the fuck did that killer ball of fluff come from?” He asks, glaring at the pup. I burst out laughing, causing both Rebel and him to jump and look at the doorway, where I am casually leaning just watching the scene.
“Dante, where did she come from?” Rebel asks but continues to snuggle with the now super excited pup.
“Nine o’clock. How long have you both been sleeping for?” I ask, not realising it is that early. I’m used to coming home at around two in the morning and leaving to get to work about now. So I could get used to this.
“Not sure, maybe five hours. She had finished the food prep and then you know,” he says with a smirk on his face and I roll my eyes before I smile at him. It’s about damn time.
“She is ours Dylan, you both are my family. I love you both.” I tell him and he smiles at me as he walks towards me. I hug him and kiss him. When we hear a crash, and look up to see Rebel looking at us with shock on her face.
“I’ll buy a new one.” She says before she runs after the unruly pup. I groan as Dylan laughs.
“Yeah, great idea getting a wrecking ball for a dog. I hope that wasn’t too expensive or had sentimental value.” He says as he walks off towards the kitchen to no doubt clean it up. I chuckle as I watch Rebel dash after the pup that is tearing up the penthouse.
This is chaos, this is our life now, and I wouldn’t change it for anything.
We work together, all three of us; we understand each other, will have each other’s backs. This is our chaos, this is our lives, this is us.
