The Bad Boy Next Room (Charlie and Taylor) novel Chapter 22

“Taylor West could be keeping them as side-chicks. Who knows,” Ashley remarked. “But it doesn’t change the fact that Taylor sees multiple women. Is that really the kind of guy you want to date, Charlie?”

“Charlie, I get that Luke and I hurt you, but you don’t have to get involved with a playboy,” Regina remarked. “He won’t be a good rebound guy. In the end, you’ll only get hurt again.”

Standing up, Charlie raised her chin and declared, “Whether or not I get hurt is none of your business.” She glanced at Sofia and Ashely, adding, “All of you!”

“Charlie, we have been friends for years. I can’t believe you would not trust us?” Ashley reacted.

“Excuse me, I trusted you. Look where it got me?” Charlie said.

“If you don’t believe us, why don’t you go and listen to the girls who watch Taylor practice? They always talk about him and their experiences with him!” Sofia shared.

“Okay.” Charlie hissed. “How do you know this, Sofia? Did you also watch Taylor practice basketball?”

“What? No!” Sofia became flustered. She said, “Sometimes, I spy on them for Archie. I’m not interested in Taylor West, no way!”

“Well, I think you are all hypocrites! You are actually jealous of Charlie because she is dating a hotter and smarter guy!” Mia said.

“If you don’t believe us, fine! Don’t come back to us crying because we told you so, Charlie,” Sofia retorted.

After Sofia, Ashley, and Regina left, Charlie’s new friends surrounded her. Frank said, “Don’t listen to them. Just enjoy being Taylor’s girl!”

“Yeah!” Mia said.

“Do you want to go to the practice?” Dawn, however, suggested.

It felt so wrong.

She and Taylor were just pretending in the first place, but Charlie wanted to know. For some reason, she was interested in hearing what these women had to say about him.

Later that afternoon, Charlie, Mia, Dawn, and Frank watched the basketball practice. Frank loaned Charlie a hoodie jacket so Taylor would not notice her. They stayed farther up the bleachers and observed. Within minutes, they began hearing women staking their claims on Taylor.

“At Brett Cooper’s party, Taylor and I had a one-night stand last year. My god, he is big!” One brunette said. “Taylor’s dick is like a fat and long green squash!”

She texted him at around ten: [Hey Taylor, I went outside to buy groceries, but silly me. I can’t get in the condo. I left my keys inside. Are you going to take long?]

Taylor: [I’m doing something. It might take two hours, but you can ride a cab to get my keys. I’m at 1257 Sunny Brook. Text me when you arrive.]

“Sunny Brook.” Charlie’s heart sank. So, Taylor really did go to see that woman named Macy.

“No, Charlie. Don’t go. It’s none of your business.” While Charlie said that, her body moved on its own. She got her bag and left for 1257 Sunny Brook.

Half an hour later, Charlie was in front of the house.

1257 Sunny Brook.

She rang the doorbell without texting Taylor. What better way to discover the truth than to turn up unexpectedly, right?

The door opened, and Charlie gasped.
