I go back to the waiting area. I am so thankful Jayne was there to save me. What would have happened if she would not have been there to rescue me. I know what would have happened. I would have been raped on that nasty floor but the pig. I just have to stay with the group.
I wait for what seems like forever. Almost everyone has left the room but me. I could take a nap while I wait. I move over to a couch and lay down. I can close my eyes just for a second. "Tatina, honey wakeup," Jayne says as she nudges me softly.
"Hey, I have some great news for you. Come with me," she says.
I open my eyes and gather myself. I was sleeping so sound. I don't think I was even dreaming. I was just in a deep solid sleep.
"I am coming," I say.
My brain feels all fuzzy. It must be from the shots wearing off. "Tatina Honey, Mr. Craig Madallion has won your auction. He is sending a man up to pick you up. He is very nice. He has a home in New Orleans. We need to get you into something more comfortable. Follow me," she says.
"What do you know about him?" I ask.
Jayne leads me to her private room, she hands me a bag. "Change and I will get you something to take all of that off of your face," she says.
Jayne leaves me to change. I strip off the garb I am wearing and look in the bag she gave me. There is a pair of black leggings, a purple top, a sports bra, cotton panties, socks, and shoes. Thank goodness for something normal to put on.
Jayne comes back with a warm cloth and makeup remover. "Here this should do the trick," she says,
"Thank you. My face was starting to itch from all this stuff on my face. I have never been one to wear a lot of makeup. It just feels icky," I tell her.
"Well you are far too beautiful to have all of that on your face," she says.
"Why are you being so kind to me?" I ask.
"Tatina you deserve some kindness in your life. You should not even be here. What your parents have done to you is horrible. I have to confess. When I found out you were in the auction I called Craig and encouraged him to bid. He was my brother-in-law. My sister died last year and he could really use a sweet face in his life," she says.
"I don't understand," I say.
"Listen Craig has a nice home and he has plenty of money. You will be very well taken care of, but he is not a cakewalk. He loved my sister. They were very happy. He can be bullheaded and trust me it was hell getting him to bid on you. But I am convinced. I told him he needed help and you needed someone to help you. He will help you get educated. He will be a friend. But and there is a big but in all of this He can be a real ass," she says.
"They are here for you," Jayne says.
"Thank you, Jayne. I hope to see you soon. Just not here," I tell her.
Jayne hugs me and kisses me on the cheek. "You will I live very close to Craig. When I am home I will be checking on you," Jayne says.
"Promise?" I ask.
"I am only a phone call away. Craig will get you a cell phone when you get there. We can text each other. I want to know how you are doing," she says.
A man in a black suit comes into the room. He looks like the secret service. "Jayne, I am here for the pickup," he says.
"Tatina, Your ride is here," she says. She kisses me again on the cheek and smiles.
