The Apple of My Eye novel Chapter 1919

"No, it's not true. This is nonsense! Charles is just framing me!" Holley raised her voice as she pointed her finger at Charles. She struggled to stand up as she tried to explain herself.

Beads of sweat were rolling down Holley's forehead. It seemed as if no matter what she said, no one at the Tarsan Corporation trusted her.

"I'm sorry, but this is the South Corporation's meeting. We're busy talking about the project right now. I'm afraid we're going to have to ask you to leave." The employees of the South Corporation were afraid that the employees of the Tarsan Corporation would make a scene, so they asked them to leave right away.

Some of the more senior employees of the Tarsan Corporation had stopped arguing out of embarrassment. They angrily sat back on their chairs and let their subordinates continue the presentation.

"Well, I think your general manager is hiding something. That's also true for your entire company. You don't need to continue the presentation anymore. We've decided to cooperate with the Shining Company."

The employees of the South Corporation didn't trust the Tarsan Corporation anymore. They'd decided they were going to side with Charles.

"How could you do that? Why would you cooperate with the Shining Company?"

The employees of the Tarsan Corporation couldn't help but blame Holley. They'd lost the project because of her too. They were so angry.

"Whatever, it's our decision. That's none of your business. Now get them out of here!" The head of the South Corporation frowned. It seemed that he was getting annoyed. He asked others to get the employees of the Tarsan Corporation out of the room.

Holley wouldn't give up. She rushed to the head of the South Corporation and grabbed his arm. She frantically said, "No, no, no! You can't do that! It's not true!"

The employees of the Tarsan Corporation felt secondhand embarrassment for Holley.

Meanwhile, Charles and David were chuckling, probably at Holley.

Holley didn't know what to do anymore. She then angrily turned and pointed her finger at Charles. "Charles, I bet you did this on purpose."

"Only an honest person can sleep soundly at night. Is that you, Holley? Are you an honest person?" Charles looked at Holley with disdain.

He seemed quite pleased with himself while Holley was visibly irked.

Her secretary then pulled Holley out of the room in an attempt to be of help to her.

"What are you doing? Stop it!" Holley said in annoyance as she shook the secretary's hand off her arm.

The secretary felt distressed but kept quiet.

Still, Holley left the room where the South Corporation employees were having the meeting.

After that, the head of the South Corporation stood up and reached out to shake Charles' hand. "This will be a big success. I look forward to it."

"Me too."

After they had discussed more details about the project, Charles left the South Corporation with David.

Charles had expected that Holley would have already left, but she didn't—she was waiting for him.

"Mr. Lu, you can get in the car already. I'll deal with her," David offered. He knew how angry and upset Holley must be.

As she drove, she racked her mind trying to come up with a way to explain herself. The more she thought about it, the more worried she became. Still, she wasn't able to come up with anything.

As soon as she arrived at the company, she found that everyone had been talking about her in secret. Angrily, she shouted, "Stop gossiping with each other and get back to work!"

Everyone immediately went back to work, making sure they didn't look Holley in the eye.

Holley walked into the meeting room. The senior employees were sitting on the chairs and were waiting for her. She pretended to be calm and asked, "What are you doing? Why didn't you help me with the South Corporation? What we need to do now is unite so we can finish the project."

"Holley, don't change the topic. If we hadn't left, we would have been forced out by security. Do you really think we're like you, who has no shame?" an important shareholder of the Tarsan Corporation said and pointed at Holley without looking at her.

"What do you mean?"

"Holley, we've already told everything to the boss. You're going to have to suffer the consequences of your actions." They were all blaming it on Holley. They never liked her, so they took this as a chance to get rid of her. This was their chance, and there was no way they were going to let it go to waste.

"You did it on purpose, didn't you? You just wanted to get rid of me?" Holley was startled by the lack of support she got.

"That's enough! Holley, the Tarsan Corporation lost this big project because of you. This is your problem, so you deal with it!"

Everyone was blaming Holley.

Holley was left with no choice but to leave. She couldn't stand it anymore.
