The Apple of My Eye novel Chapter 1823

"Aunt Melissa, I will make sure that Sheryl gets what she deserves. I won't let her go so easily. Don't worry about it!" Leila looked at Melissa eagerly. There was only one hurdle left for her to overcome—Sheryl.

Melissa was no longer going to be a problem for Leila anymore. She had already fired all the employees who were faithful to Charles with Melissa's help. Leila had Melissa's unconditional trust, and it was only a matter of time before she would take over the Shining Company. Since everything was going smoothly on this side, Leila decided that it was time to deal with her personal enmity.

"Good! Leila, I can't wait. I just wish Sheryl would drop dead now. I don't care what I have to do, but I want her to suffer. If anything happens to my son, I will end her life with my own two hands!" Melissa looked at Leila with sharp and determined eyes, as if she was going to eat Sheryl alive.

Fortunately, Sheryl wasn't there, or else, things would have gotten out of hand with Melissa.

"Aunt Melissa, thank you for your support. Don't worry. I won't let Sheryl live a better life than us."

Leila kept comforting Melissa. She urged Melissa to go upstairs and get some rest when she noticed Melissa had calmed down.

"Leila, you should get some sleep too. Don't forget to take care of yourself as well."

Melissa was obviously quite fond of Leila, as well. She sighed and then went upstairs after a while.

Leila was lost in her own thoughts as she watched Melissa leave. She had been waiting for this moment for a very long time. At the sudden realization that her dream was very close to coming true, Leila couldn't contain the excitement in her.

After a while, Leila thought about what Melissa had said, and she murmured to herself, "Sheryl, I don't think you'll be able to escape this time. Without Charles, you're just as good as dead now."

The thought of Sheryl's death spawned a sinister laugh from Leila, which sent chilly echoes throughout the entire room. After fighting the urge to keep on laughing, Leila walked over to Nancy's room and started banging on the door.

Nancy jumped out of bed in a shock.

Displeased, she curiously walked to the door as she rubbed her sleepy eyes and said, "Who is it?"

"Open the door!" Leila demanded in an unfriendly tone.

Leila's voice caught Nancy's attention as she quickly came to her senses. Puzzled, Nancy cracked open the door just a bit. Enough to see what Leila wanted, but not enough to let her in.

"Aren't you going to invite your guest in?" Leila shrugged and looked at Nancy with a beaming face.

Although Leila looked friendly, Nancy knew that her visit wouldn't be a friendly one. She wondered what the purpose for Leila's unannounced visit was.

"Miss Zhang, it's already late. Why don't you just get to the point?" Although Nancy mumbled the words incoherently, she knew that Leila understood what she meant.

Leila had no intention of going into Nancy's room. She stood at the door and crossed her arms over her chest. She sneered at Nancy complacently, "Tell Sheryl that we know she had something to do with Charles' accident! Aunt Melissa and I will come after her once we deal with the Shining Company."

"Miss Zhang, you know her as well. Why don't you tell her that yourself?" Nancy immediately shut the door in anger without even giving Leila the opportunity to respond.

"Who the hell do you think you are? You're just a servant. If you don't like it here, I can ask Aunt Melissa to fire you." Infuriated, Leila shook her fist and cursed at Nancy. A closed door wasn't going to stop her from voicing her displeasure.

Nancy couldn't get back to sleep after that.

When Leila left, Nancy fell in deep contemplation wondering if she should talk to Sheryl. Nancy, however, didn't want to give Sheryl more reasons to be hurt because she was already in a lot of pain.

After careful consideration, Nancy decided not to call Sheryl, even if her job was at stake.

When Ferry noticed Holley's enthusiasm, he deliberately kept silent to prolong her anxiousness.

Ferry's silence only made Holley's curiosity stronger. She could hardly wait. "Tell me now!"

"Holley, how dare you speak to me like that? You'd better watch your tone!" Annoyed, Ferry slammed his palm on the table with a loud bang.

Holley realized that she had irritated Ferry. She tried to control her trembling voice as she spoke.

"I am sorry. I didn't do that on purpose. I am just very nervous, and I want to know what happened." Holley calmed herself down and patiently waited for Ferry's reply.

"Holley, let this be a warning! The only reason you're still alive is because of me. If you continue to annoy me, I can wipe you out at any time."

Ferry would have killed Holley a while back if he didn't need her to deal with Charles.

Holley realized that Ferry was actually very angry this time, so she started to pray for his forgiveness.

After a while, Ferry said, "Holley, you should feel lucky that you're still useful to me."

"I apologize for my behavior. It's my fault. I should watch my tone. What do you want me to do now?" Holley didn't dare to speak in a loud voice. She didn't want to irritate Ferry because she didn't want to die.

"Just cooperate with Leila. Do whatever she asks you to do. Just agree to whatever she wants, as long as she can take down the Shining Company." Ferry's tone carried a seriousness that made Holley feel nervous.
