One - Hundred Sixteen: Pets

Ok, so this has to be one of the most adorable things I have ever seen. I came in to check on Dominick in his toddler bed. We had just recently moved him from a crib to a bed. When I walked in I found laying on his side. Which was cute enough until I say the wolf pup cuddled up next to him asleep. Yeah, apparently Ember and Onyx have gifted my son one of their pups. I took out my phone and I snapped several pictures. This is just too cute to pass up.

“What is this?” I hear Dustin whisper.

“I think your son just received his first pet. They look so cute together.” I tell him.

I looked at Dustin and I saw the smile on his face. I wonder who else was gifted one of the pups? As it turned out Xaydyn was gifted one as was Nymyra. We were surprised by this. None of us could figure out why she was given one of the pups. That left one pup. I wonder who was going to receive that one? We were all in the rec room with the toddlers and their new pets. The kids were overjoyed with the pups. Dominick was showing Jordyn the pup and she was gently petting the pup. The pup was male and he was the silver one with golden eyes that would always crawl into Dominick’s lap. Xaydyn got the other male pup who was a dark blonde color with brown eyes. Nymyra was holding her pup in her lap which was one of the females. She was a cute pup. She is solid white with bright blue eyes. The other pup was the same color as Ember and has the same golden eye color that changes colors. I think it is strange that none of them have any black on them.

“Why did Nymyra get a pup?” Brighton whined.

“I have no idea,” Chris says.

I see a shit-eating grin spread across Rye’s face. I have a feeling he knows something. I give him a look and he just continues to smile.

“Ok, you asshole what do you know that we don’t?” Chris asks.

They are best friends and talk like that to each other all the time. Just like Dustin and Kaleb.

“Well if you would have been more fucking observant you would have realized that they gifted the pups to kids.” Rye points out.

“No fucking way,” Chris replies.

I noticed Nymyra’s body got stiff and the color drained from her face. Chris turned and looked at her. She has not moved.

“Since I am fae what am I able to sense before all others?” Rye asks.

Oh shit, I just figured it out. I think Nymyra caught on as well.

“Nymyra?” Chris asks.

“I don’t think so, but I don’t know.” She whispers.

Imyra appears out of nowhere and hits Nymyra with a stern look. Nymyra gets up and follows her to the bathroom. No one disobeys Imyra. Not even Dustin. She is scary as fuck when she gets mad. I think that it is funny that she can keep the triplets in line. I look around the room and I see that Mykenzie and Kylani have smug looks on their faces. I wonder if the new as well. Chris shoots them a glare and they just laugh. Oh, I hope Nymyra is pregnant. She better has a girl. We are greatly outnumbered in this pack. I thought Chris was gonna lose his shit. He kept pacing around making me nervous.

“Will you please sit the fuck down. You are on my last nerve.” Mykenzie tells him.

How do I tell him that I am waiting for him to tell me that he doesn’t want this and that he’s leaving?

“Please just tell me straight so all this stress can be over,” I say to him.

He looks confused and sits there for a second. The next thing I know I am on my back on the couch. He is on top of me kissing me hard. He pulls back and looks me in the eyes.

“I am not going anywhere. We are doing this together.” He replies.

I have no idea when the tears started but the next thing I know is that I am laying on top of him sobbing. I don’t cry. I am pretty sure this is all related to being pregnant. He just lets me lay there on him and cry into his chest and he rubs my back trying to calm me the fuck down.

“I am sorry. I just got scared.” I tell him.

“It’s good, princess. I think all women are scared at first. Don’t mention my sisters. They aren’t included. Their men are fucking whipped. It’s nauseating.” He replies.

I laugh at this. It is true, especially when it comes to Kaleb. I have never seen a guy more head over heels in love than him. It’s sweet, and I think every girl wants that to an extent. Kylani doesn’t seem to mind. Well except when she is pregnant and he turns into a fucking overprotective mother hen. I thought she was gonna kill a few times when she was pregnant with the twins.

“Well, at least we know why Ember gave you a pup.” He says.

I sit up and smile at him. I guess everything is going to be fine. Kylani did tell Chris as we walked out that it had better be a girl. I have to agree. The ratio of boys to girls around here is greatly out of balance.
