Chapter 71

On Tuesday. I defeated Ryan on The Beast and on Wednesday, I defeated Alpha Jackson. Overall, I’m feeling pretty good about my progress in this class, and I plan to start attacking The Beast in wolf form next week. Shane started in wolf form this morning and while I feel a bit of a competitive need to try and beat him to the finish line, the idea of maintaining bragging rights with my family and friends for the rest of my life is still more important to me.

On Wednesday, we are back in Dealing with Crisis. This time, it’s Justin in the hot seat. Cassie surprises me by raising her hand to be Alpha. She’s still pretty shy in the classes that aren’t Finance related. However, once she sat down with Justin, I understood. She’s not only tutoring me in Finance, she has also been helping Justin come up with a plan to get his pack out of financial ruin. Since that is how the instructors broke him, it made sense that she would be the one to help him see what he’s doing right.

“You haven’t even taken over your pack yet, Justin, and yet, you’ve taken the financial management of your pack from your father and you’re already making significant improvements. Your father’s failures are not your failures, Justin. Not unless you let them become yours, which you aren’t. And since you have me as a friend, you won’t fail. I won’t let you.”

She went on to discuss things that I’m guessing were specific to his pack and their financial issues, things that I didn’t totally understand, but Justin did and, in the end, I could tell that he was feeling better and stronger.

When Ryan called the end of class, Shane, Cole, and I joined the two of them at the front of the class for a group hug.

“The Conquering Alphas have succeeded in conquering yet another misconception provided to us by our devious instructors!” Cole booms as we leave class, making all of us laugh.

After dinner, it’s time for Shane’s sex class where I’m the partner. As nervous as I was last night, I‘ m even more nervous tonight. I guess tonight it’s my turn to let go and give Shane complete control. It’s not that he hasn’t taken control of my body in the past, but that was before everything changed between us. It was before our emotions became so charged.

When I walk into the classroom in my robe, he’s waiting for me. He holds out his hands and smiles, helping me to feel less nervous. I take his hands, and he leads me to the table, lifting me so I’m sitting in front of him.

Chapter 71

“Hands only and kissing on the mouth?” he asks before Alpha Jackson can instruct him for ask

permission.

“Yes.” I agree.

“I’m going to take care of you. T. I know you’re nervous. I was foo. But you can trust me just like f trusted you”

I nod. swallowing hard. “It just feels so different,” I whisper

“If you’re like me, once my hands are on you, the nervous part will fall away. I’ll be interested to see if those powerful emotions swirl around us again tonight.”

When Alpha Jackson instructs us to remove our robes, I do, then lie down while Shane hangs up the robe. I’m thankful that the curtains are up because I feel vulnerable and exposed.

When Shane returns, he lays a hand on my stomach, helping to ground me.

“I’m right here,” he says softly.
