Chapter 11

“So, are you an Alpha heir?” I ask him, redirecting the focus off of us.

“Guilty,” he says, raising his glass to me. “You?”

“Same.” I say and he turns to Justin.

“Same.”

“How about you, Cassandra?”

“I’m taking the Finance route, but I took all warrior electives so I might minor in Warrior Training.”

“Girl, you should consider a double major. It gives you more opportunity to get on the leaderboard. My sister–in–law, Shane’s sister, double–majored and graduated from the Academy a semester ago fifth on the leaderboard, and she didn’t even take the sex class,” Tiana says.

Justin whistles. “So you both come from a family of high achievers.”

“Enya was the first in our family to make it to the leaderboard, which I credit to Christian. That’s how Tiana and I met, through Christian,” I say for Cole’s benefit, then I give him the condensed

version of how we met.

“And apparently, the two of you hit it off,” Cole says.

“We did. When Enya went to the Academy, T came to my pack every couple of weeks to help me run my pack. She’s my best friend,” I say, smiling at her.

“And Shane’s mine,” she says, smiling back.

I pull her into a hug and the five of us sit and talk until dinner.

The lines that have been drawn between our two groups stay that way through dinner. The instructors notice, but don’t say anything, letting us figure things out on our own.

After dinner, we break off and head to our rooms.

“Are you going to check in with your parents?” I ask, walking Tiana to her room.

“Yeah. How about you? Did you want to come in?” she asks.

“Do you think you can be quiet?” I murmur.

“Only one way to find out,” she says, opening the door and pulling me into her room.

It has only been a week since I’ve seen her but damn, I’ve missed her. It’s not just being inside her that feels fantastic, we’ve become very familiar with each other’s bodies. Her scent and her taste feel like coming home.

When her body clamps down around mine, I capture her cries of pleasure with a kiss. I force myself to hold out, drawing another orgasm from her before I allow my own body to explode inside of hers.

When I collapse beside her, I pull her into my arms.

We talk until we fall asleep. I don’t leave until early in the morning to get ready for the next group of students who will join us this semester at the Academy.

Five more students joined the train at our last stop. Nicholas made a point of letting everyone know that I was related to two of the instructors. Thankfully, only one of the new people seemed intimidated by that.

My second night on the Train, Shane and I spent with our new group of friends. The newbies asked about what it’s like to be related to so many current and previous instructors.

“Wait until you see her on the sparring field,” Shane said, grinning at me.

I shrug. “I’m pretty good. I’ve trained with some of the best, but even my brother said that coming to the Academy taught him things that he hadn’t learned from my parents or their friends.
