The bird’s appearance gave James hope.

“Wait,“ The bird was reminded of something and said to James, “Didn’t you seal the Light of Death in the outer realm? Why not use that Light to stimulate your body and see whether you can activate your body’s potential?”

James froze as he heard this. The bird said that any living being touched by the Light of Acme will die, yet it is letting him make this attempt. Yet, this was perhaps the only way out of his situation.

“I don’t see any other option open to me, so I’ll try. But you must guarantee my safety, I’m worried that something might go wrong,” James said as he looked at the bird.

The bird patted his chest and assured James, “Don’t worry. I’m here. There’ll surely be no accidents.”

James was worried about this assurance, but there was no other way around it, was there?
