“Is my father’s life in danger?” Henry’s voice cracked, panic spilling out.
“No,” Alex answered firmly.
“Your father isn’t in any life-threatening danger. He’s as strong as a million bulls. Honestly, I doubt any of you could stop him right now.”
“Then what’s happening to him?” Henry demanded.
“He tried to break through level one hundred,” Alex explained.
“He used an extremely rare elixir—its power is overwhelming. If he had stayed asleep, the energy would have fused safely. But someone woke him early.”
“Now that energy is flooding his body. He can’t contain it. That’s why he’s destroying everything in sight. When the elixir burns out, the power will fade, and he’ll return to normal.”
The mansion, once proud and imposing, now looked like a war zone.
“Explode!” Samuel roared, his eyes bloodshot, his face twisted into a savage mask.
He tore through walls, crushed pillars, splintered trees—anything in his path was reduced to rubble.
“Guards uick! Stop Mr. Prescott!” Benjamin’s shout was hoarse with fear.
Guards rushed in, shields raised. Samuel’s palm lashed out, and the impact sent them crashing through the air, blood spraying from their mouths.
He bellowed like a wild beast, and with every strike, men were flung like rag dolls. None could stand against him.
Screams filled the courtyard, but Samuel’s fury was unstoppable.
“Oh no! Grandfather has gone mad!” Frederick shouted, running to Henry’s side.
His eyes darted toward Alex, blazing with suspicion. “Uncle! It’s that kid! He’s the one who drove Grandfather insane. Capture him!”
“That’s right!” Benjamin snarled, his voice trembling with rage.
“I knew this boy had evil intentions. He poisoned Father, and now look at him! He must be punished!”
“Don’t accuse Alex without proof!” Lawrence snapped. “I refuse to believe he’d do such a thing.”
Henry turned to Alex, his brow furrowed. “Young man, you told me my father was fine. Why has he lost control?”
“I have told you. Someone woke him up before the hour was complete,” Alex said coldly.
“No one woke Grandfather!” Frederick shouted back.
Alex’s eyes narrowed. “Was it you?”
“Shut your mouth!” Frederick barked, pointing a trembling finger. “You’re the one who caused this, and now you dare blame us?”
Samuel slammed his fists into the ground, the impact tearing a massive crater into the earth. Dust and stone exploded into the air.
“Alex, please, do something!” Lawrence begged, desperation cutting through his voice.
“Just wait ten more minutes,” Alex replied. “The power will burn out. He’ll regain his senses.”
“Ten minutes?” Frederick sneered.
“Look at him! My Grandfather could keep this up all day—ten minutes means nothing!” Frederick’s voice dripped with venom. He jabbed a finger at Alex, eyes blazing.
“I see right through you. You’re guilty, and every word out of your mouth is just another pathetic excuse!”
“Henry!” Benjamin growled, eyes blazing. “This bastard caused Father’s condition. Stop wasting time—torture him until he confesses!”
“Tell me!” he roared. “Which one of you dared to wake me from my sleep!”
“F-Father…” Benjamin stammered, his lips trembling. He had never seen Samuel this enraged. “We… we don’t understand what you mean.”
Samuel’s chest heaved, his voice choked with rage.
“I was one step away from breaking through to level one hundred. Just minutes more of sleep, and the elixir’s power would have pushed me through! But someone woke me too soon. The energy went wild, and I had no choice but to burn it all off!”
He stomped the ground—stone cracked like glass beneath his heel, webbing outward in jagged lines. The air shook with the force of his fury.
“Do you understand?” Samuel’s voice was raw with anguish.
“Now I can’t attempt level one hundred again for ten years! All because of one of you!” His fists clenched so tight his knuckles bled.
“I was a breath away. A single breath! I burned a ten-billion-dollar elixir, and it was working! With level one hundred, I could have risen above all—prime minister, even king! And now it’s gone!”
He threw back his head and bellowed, “ARGHHH!” His scream rattled the air.
“Whoever did this—I’ll kill you! Even if you are my family!”
Frederick’s hand shot out, pointing directly at Alex. “It was him! He’s the one who ruined you!”
Samuel’s blazing eyes locked onto Alex. “So. You’re the one.”
His aura exploded outward in a violent surge. The sheer force blasted Benjamin, Henry, and Frederick off their feet, hurling them ten meters back like rag dolls.
With a roar, Samuel lunged at Alex, his fist swinging down with the weight of a mountain. “DIE!”
Alex’s eyes sharpened, steel and fire flashing within them.
