Evelynn's funeral was scheduled five days later. Jordan appeared as though he had aged ten years, his eyes unable to conceal his deep grief.
He said, "Ms. Murray, if there's anything you need from me, please let me know. My hatred for DY Organization is irreconcilable. I will see to it that they are brought to justice!"
It was them who caused him and Evelynn to be separated for eight years. It was also them who caused Evelynn to die of organ failure.
If not for DY Organization's heinous experiments, Evelynn would have been able to live a happy and joyful life.
He had already experienced the ultimate pain of a parent burying their child. He didn't want other families to endure such suffering. Moreover, it was Evelynn's final wish before she passed.
Yvette nodded firmly, her eyes filled with intense resolve. "I will."
The cruelty and malice of DY Organization's actions were something she would never forgive.
Seeing her like this, Wilson's heart ached. Gently, he took her hand, silently offering her comfort. "Yvie, let's see Evelynn off for the last time."
Yvette and Wilson placed the white lilies in their hands gently before the tombstone. In the photograph that sat above it, Evelynn's sweet smile radiated warmth, tugging at one's heart.
Yvette's chest tightened, and she spoke with determination, one word at a time. "I will fulfill my promise to you. In another life, you must live a peaceful and healthy life."
Xavier had been waiting outside for a long time. Seeing Yvette step out, he immediately approached.
"Yvie…"
Noticing her low spirits, worry flashed across Xavier's eyes. He instinctively reached out to touch her, but Wilson subtly blocked him.
The two men's gazes locked, an unspoken tension crackling between them.
In such a short time, Yvie had already placed so much trust in Wilson.
"DY Organization has been using infants and children as test subjects for years. They employ every method imaginable to abduct them for their sinister experiments. Yvie, back then, you were taken from the Murray family by their despicable means."
Xavier continued, "But something seemed to have gone wrong, and you were lost before being delivered to DY Organization. However, it's also possible that they…"
Xavier didn't finish his sentence, but both Yvette and Wilson understood.
This could only mean one thing. She, too, had been injected with the drug. She was also one of DY organization's test subjects.
Evelynn's fate could very well be hers as well.
