"Why does her breakfast look different from what we had?" Jasper asked, his brows furrowed in curiosity.
The maid smiled politely. "Mr. Jasper, this breakfast was prepared early this morning by Mr. Quinn himself. He made sure we kept it warm for Ms. Murray."
Jasper let out a low whistle, shaking his head in disbelief. So that's why Wilson was up so early—cooking breakfast for Yvette.
"Wilson," Jasper started, glancing over at his brother. "The maids already had breakfast prepared. Why go through the trouble of making more?"
Wilson looked at him coolly, taking his time to respond. "She prefers my cooking."
At this moment, Jasper felt like he should've just kept quiet. He was momentarily at a loss for words. Finally, he muttered under his breath, "Man, I didn't ask for this much PDA…"
Wilson gave him a dismissive glance, his tone dry as he said, "How can you compare to my baby?"
Jasper blinked, stunned by the blatant favoritism. "Wow," was all he managed to say.
Meanwhile, Yvette had just settled in at the dining table when her brothers swarmed her like bees to honey.
"Yvie, here's some milk!"
"Do you need a napkin?"
"How about a spoon for your soup?"
It was a full-blown competition to win her attention. Wilson—standing off to the side—found himself edged out entirely. His expression darkened as he watched the scene unfold.
After breakfast, Ian leaned in with a suggestion. "Yvie, are you heading to Jubilife Research Institute today? If you are, I can go with you."
As he gently massaged her lower back, his dark eyes wandered, lingering on her flushed lips. A glint of mischief sparked in his gaze, and his fingers paused briefly.
Yvette caught the heat in his eyes and stiffened, immediately recognizing the shift in the mood. Her cheeks flushed as she tried to wriggle out of his grasp. "Let go! I don't need a massage anymore."
"Why are you running, baby?" Wilson's voice dropped to a low murmur that was both coaxing and playful. "I just want to give you a kiss. That's all."
The way he looked at her made her heart skip a beat. It was almost hypnotic—like he was drawing her in with a wicked spell.
Just as she began to falter, the sharp ring of a phone shattered the moment. Wilson's face darkened as he glanced at the screen. Seeing Xavier's name, his jaw tightened in frustration.
It was Xavier again. Wilson clenched his teeth, his irritation simmering.
