Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 1709

Henry looked utterly lost, his little face all scrunched up. “But Dad, I can’t beat the bad guys~”

Andre just sighed. Why was this kid so hard to teach? He was nothing like Andre imagined.

Mia, who’d been listening in for a while, finally jumped in. “Well, what if Mommy skips a meal and loses all her strength? Who’s going to help then?”

Andre seized the moment and shot his son a look. “So, will my little man protect Mia?”

Backed into a corner, Henry had no choice but to puff up his chest. “I will, Dad! I’m super strong—I can protect Mommy for sure.”

Andre nodded, all serious. “Then a real little man never cries. If you cry, you can’t call yourself a little man.”

Henry, not catching on to his dad’s ploy, shook his head with determination. He had no clue Andre was setting him up for tomorrow.

The next morning, after breakfast, Henry came downstairs. The whole family headed out together to the fancy Parkview Academy.

Asher hitched a ride with Teddy; the two godfathers lounged in the car, chatting away.

Mars and Milka showed up together, right behind them was Mr. Nettleton, who was carrying a tiny bag and trailed by his slightly frazzled wife. “Put a sunhat on Lizzy! Why do you keep tossing her hats?”

“Lizzy doesn’t like wearing them,” he replied.

“Impossible.”

Annie plopped a hat onto her daughter’s head anyway. Lizzy looked up at her dad, hoping for a rescue, but he just shrugged. “Don’t look at me, kiddo. That’s Mom’s department.”

The Cedillo family arrived with the biggest entourage. Even the school principal came out to greet Henry. When the principal tried to pick him up, Henry piped up with all the confidence in the world, “My daddy’s right here—you can’t steal me away~”

Andre just facepalmed.

The principal burst out laughing and kept saying how adorable Henry was.

Andre crouched down and tried again. “This is your teacher.”

Henry eyed the teacher suspiciously. “Is this Mia’s teacher or mine?”

Milka hugged her sweet kid and gave Henry’s cheeks a playful pinch. Mars and Milka were cracking each other up in the corner. Anya, who couldn’t bring herself to snatch someone else’s kid, kept glancing at Lizzy with longing.

Eventually, Mr. Nettleton, seeing how desperate Anya looked, graciously handed Lizzy over.

Anya, now with Lizzy in her arms, scurried off to hide.

Leo chased after her. “Where are you going?”

“Chad, I’ve got to hide—otherwise someone else is going to try and take Lizzy from me.”

Lizzy looked as content as could be, nestled in Anya’s arms.

But Anya was in such a hurry she accidentally bumped into a boy pushing his bike. “Oh, sorry! I didn’t see you,” she said quickly.

The boy just stood there, holding his bicycle, looking at Anya in silence.
