Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 1594

Molly tugged Leo down onto the couch, channeling full-on auntie energy. “Why haven’t you answered your phone?”

Leo glanced at the dead screen. “I was at the office last night and forgot my charger. The one there barely works—my phone just gave up.”

Mia walked over. “Do you have a fever?”

Molly frowned. “No thermometer. I can’t tell just by touching him.”

“Let’s take him to the hospital.”

And just like that, Leo found himself hauled off to the ER by his aunt and cousin.

After they checked his temperature, Jade’s eyes went wide. “Leo, you’ve got a fever of 102! Seriously, you could fry an egg on your head!”

He spent the morning getting an IV, wedged between his aunt on one side and his cousin on the other, needle in his hand. “Come on, you two moms, I’m on a drip already. Why are you still here? Go home and look after your own kids!”

Molly gave him a look. “We’re staying. Who knows what you’ll get up to if we leave.”

Leo groaned. “I mean, what are you even guarding? If I need the bathroom, you can’t exactly come in and hold the IV for me.”

Mia smirked. “If we weren’t here, you know Anya would show up in a heartbeat. You decide.”

“…Alright, you win. Just don’t let Ms. Anya storm in again.”

Once his phone finally charged a little, Leo called his girlfriend. Anya’s voice came through, worried and scolding all at once. “Chad, if you don’t start taking care of yourself, I’m not even going to like you anymore!”

“Okay, okay, my bad, all my fault. Chad’s sorry, Ms. Anya, please don’t be mad,” he soothed, working his charm. “I promise, I’ll write you a whole apology letter when I get home. Don’t get upset—frowning gives you wrinkles! Did you get your lucky money this year? Anywhere you want to go for vacation? What are you craving to eat?…”

Mia and Molly exchanged glances—looked like Anya had really turned their big guy into a total sweetheart.

That morning, the Cedillo family had guests drop by.

With Mia and Molly gone, a relative asked, “Where are the two kids?”

He hurried to Andre, tugging his dad’s knee with his little hands. “Daddy, she’s gone again!”

His mom was always going missing. What was he supposed to do?

“Maybe she went to study?” Henry guessed.

Andre handed him the phone. “Go call your mom and find out where she is.”

Henry trotted off to make the call.

Back at the hospital—

“Molly, hurry up and get me something to eat—I’m running on empty,” Mia said, sitting up straighter. Her phone buzzed. “Who’s calling now? I’m not picking up.”

She hit decline without a second thought.
