Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 1546

Kristen said, “I went to get your mom, but she’s refusing to come out.”

Knowing Mia was still inside, Kristen headed back in, determined not to leave her behind.

The second time Kristen stepped through the door, Miles felt his nerves snap tight. She wasn’t nearly as cool and aloof as before. Instead, she scanned the room, immediately searching for the largest woman. Cooper’s words echoed in her mind: “My sister? She eats nonstop, loves food more than anyone I’ve met—she can out-eat a linebacker. My brother-in-law must be blind.”

Kristen eyed Annie first, noticing the small face and the unmistakable pregnant belly—definitely not her. Next, she glanced at Maja, who was nursing an injury. Nope, still not the one.

Then, turning around, Kristen noticed a lively, gorgeous girl, draped over a man’s shoulders. The girl tilted her head at him, grinning playfully, and asked, “Honey, this queen just snatched our son—who’s she after now?”

Andre smirked. “She’s after you.”

Kristen strode right up to Mia. “It’s you.”

Mia froze, immediately hiding behind her husband and clutching his neck like a lifeline, daring anyone to try and separate them.

When Mia finally realized Kristen was there to rescue her, she dug in her heels. “No way—I’m staying with my husband.”

Miles could see that his brother’s plan was falling apart because of all the delays. He’d hoped to wrap things up quickly, but now, there was this unpredictable wild card on the scene, and upsetting her wasn’t an option.

Once again, Kristen returned empty-handed.

Night settled in. In a strange room, Henry started bawling his eyes out.

Kristen, who was never known for her patience, tried her best. “Hey, want to go see the goofy puppy? Maybe we can even scare him a little, huh?”

Henry shook his head, waving his arms. “I want mommy and daddy!” Like most kids, the minute it got dark, he turned fussy.

When nothing else worked, Henry’s sobs grew louder, his lips quivering into an adorable pout. “Sweetie can’t find Cooper, either.”

The maids watched the princess, who was now rubbing her forehead in frustration. They all held their breath, praying she wouldn’t lose her cool again.

“It’s his favorite cartoon.”

Kristen went to check. When she came back, she reported, “No luck, sweetie’s not interested.”

“Ask him if he wants to go for a drive.”

Another head shake from Henry.

Cooper was torn—he didn’t want to leave the situation at hand, but he couldn’t stop worrying about his nephew back at the palace.

“Forget it, I’ll handle it,” Kristen said, hanging up. She scooped up the still-crying Henry and carried him out of bed.

She took him straight to the training field. “Alright, kiddo. Kristen’s going to teach you how to play with toy guns.”

Meanwhile, Cooper’s phone buzzed with a call from a friend. “Hey, man—sixteen lines on the dark web just went dead. Riley’s begging my dad for protection now. Turns out your brother-in-law and Asher are tight.”
