Swapping a Broken Heart for a New Start novel Chapter 786

Jarvis Peters grinned mischievously. “I went back and blackmailed the elders in my family!”

“Blackmailed them???”

Everyone in the garden turned to look at him, curiosity piqued.

Sarah Brown leaned in, eyebrows raised. “How’d you manage that?”

With a proud tilt of his chin, Jarvis declared, “Everyone’s got a few skeletons in their closet, right? Embarrassing stories they’d rather keep hidden. Well, it just so happens—I know all of theirs!”

He looked positively smug as he said it.

Larry Adams chuckled. “So after you blackmailed them, they just agreed?”

“Yep!” Jarvis nodded, utterly serious. “They told me to get lost! Said if I was so determined to go to medical school, I could do whatever I wanted.”

Camila Davis shook her head in disbelief. “And you call that giving their blessing?”

Eric Morris, amused by the young man’s antics, couldn’t help but laugh too. “Your family’s elders are as stubborn as ever, I see.”

Once the laughter died down, Eric’s tone grew more thoughtful. “Well, if you’re that set on learning, then medical school will take you.”

Jarvis’s eyes lit up. “Really???”

Eric nodded. “You’ve shown enough sincerity. And you even offered the Harris Family’s old medical texts in exchange. Let’s call it an exchange of knowledge.”

He glanced at Camila. “As for becoming Camila’s apprentice, let’s skip that. Too much of a generation gap. You’ll be registered as my student at medical school.”

The thing Jarvis had been longing for finally came true. He beamed and quickly said, “Thank you, sir!”

Eric waved him off, and Jarvis happily ducked away.

Camila sidled up to her mentor, lowering her voice. “Are you sure about this?”
