Swapping a Broken Heart for a New Start novel Chapter 726

“Yes, it’s this old injury in my leg—that thing’s been tormenting me for decades. I really hope you can take a look and tell me what’s going on.”

“And me! Me too! Don’t forget me!”

Seeing the growing crowd, Camila Davis hesitated, her expression troubled. There were simply too many people; there was no way she could see all of them in such a short time.

Jarvis Peters picked up on her predicament and immediately chimed in with a warm smile, “If you trust me, how about I help out? Camila’s amazing, but she’s only one person—there’s no way she can handle everyone here by herself. If you’re worried about anything, I can always check with her.”

With that, he managed to please both sides.

Those seeking treatment were more than willing to trust Jarvis Peters, so they stopped hesitating and quickly lined up at his table to register.

Dennis Williams took notice and arranged for Aaron and a couple of bodyguards to help keep things organized. Many of these patients had rather distinguished backgrounds, so assisting them could only benefit Camila Davis.

Finally, Camila was able to take a breather and return to Dennis’s side.

She offered him an apologetic smile. “Sorry, did I keep you waiting too long?”

Dennis shook his head, his eyes crinkling with a gentle smile. “Not at all. I could wait for you forever and it still wouldn’t feel long. You were incredible today, Camila—exactly how I always picture you.”

He remembered her up on stage, confidently answering questions, speaking with such calm poise. Even when she won, she kept her cool—never arrogant, never flustered. He couldn’t take his eyes off her.

This was the Camila he loved to see.

Dennis reached for her hand, giving it a gentle massage as he asked, “Are your hands sore?”

“Yeah,” Camila admitted, nodding honestly. “A little bit.”

He started working her wrist more carefully, and his fingers brushed the bracelet she wore. Camila remembered where it came from—he’d given it to her—and she couldn’t help but smile. “It’s true, with this bracelet, I really did win today! Your luck is something else, Dennis!”

Dennis’s smile softened. “You won because of your own strength. My luck had nothing to do with it. But… consider this bracelet a reward. May it keep you safe and healthy, always.”

Camila hesitated. “Are you sure? I mean… can I really keep it?”

She knew that ever since she’d met him, that bracelet had never left his wrist. Somehow, she felt it suited him better than her.
