Swapping a Broken Heart for a New Start novel Chapter 652

“Alright.”

Camila Davis nodded, watching as Dennis Williams disappeared inside before finally turning to look at her best friend.

The second their eyes met, she was greeted with Sarah Brown’s mischievous grin.

With Dennis gone, Sarah dropped all pretense of politeness and teased, “So, that’s how you are when you’re dating Mr. Williams? Seriously, Camila, you two are like a couple of teenagers at prom—hot and heavy!”

She waggled her eyebrows. “Who knew the Ice King could actually melt like that? I mean, wow.”

Camila’s cheeks burned bright red at the memory of Dennis’s kiss just moments ago.

She gave Sarah a playful shove. “Stop it! Come on, spill—why are you really here?”

Sarah laughed, but seeing Camila’s embarrassment, she decided to let her off the hook. Her face turned serious as she shared the latest gossip circulating around town.

She also mentioned something Aurora Robinson had confided in her.

“Listen,” Sarah warned, “don’t let your guard down. Cynthia Lee still has her eyes on Dennis. She’s ready to swoop in if you blink.”

Camila couldn’t help but chuckle. She’d never realized her friends were already planning for every possible disaster.

But she knew their concern came from a good place, and her heart warmed at that.

Still, when it came to the Williams family elders, Camila honestly didn’t feel particularly worried.

Sarah frowned, “You’re really not concerned?”

Camila just smiled, cool as ever. “You guys are worried Dennis’ll get stuck between me and his family, right? Well, why let that happen in the first place?”

Sarah blinked. “And how exactly are you going to stop it?”

Camila grinned. “Did you forget what I do for a living? I’m a doctor, remember? I’ll just make sure Dennis’s granddad gets the best care possible—keep him healthy, happy, and out of the hospital.”

After all, now that she’d taken over the family clinic, she had access to every rare medicine and supplement you could imagine. Plus, the clinic’s library was stacked with every health and wellness guide under the sun.

If she couldn’t handle the elder Mr. Williams’s health, who could?

Sarah stared at her, then burst out laughing. “Why didn’t I think of that? If Dennis’s granddad is fit as a fiddle, all those worries just disappear!”

Sarah rolled her eyes, grinning. “So basically, Aurora and I have been stressing out for nothing.”
